According to NFL Network's Albert Breer, the Ravens are expected to franchise tag impending free agent Joe Flacco if the sides don't work out a long-term deal before February.
A long-term deal seems like a major long shot at this point, considering the sides haven't negotiated since August. Per Breer, the Ravens do hope to rekindle talks immediately after the season. Flacco is wrapping up a relatively disappointing contract year, sitting on a 20:10 TD-to-INT ratio and 59.1 completion rate through 14 games. As Breer notes, fellow impending UFA Ed Reed could hit the market if the Ravens slap Flacco with the tag.
