Will the Ravens resign Ed Reed.. if not where will he go?

I was thinking about this today.. and with as much cap space that we'll have as well as having Chuck Pagano as our head coach... Ed Reed in Indy?

The more interesting question will be what happens if they re-sign him.

I think Reed is a shell of his former self. He's suffered through a lot of injuries, including the neck thing, throughout his career. Seeing him in a couple games this year while watching, he's also getting beat on a more consistent basis and doesn't appear to be a three-down player moving forward.

Judging from comments he's made throughout the years, Reed's also not concerned with how to keep himself busy with life after football, and he's not going to stick around just to stick around and have one more season. I actually think that he could retire after this season if he and the Ravens don't agree on a reduced role and salary.

I think he retires before moving on to another team as well.

I think he'll call it quits.

I haven't seen him play this season, it was just a thought. I saw his stats and they looked decent enough to get him another contract somewhere, if anything, he'd be a great veteran asset playing along side a young secondary.

Indy shouldn't sign him and he wouldn't sign with us.

Dude will be 35 when next season starts and would just be a short term solution. It's not like the Colts are a fringe SB team and he'd push us over the top.

My guess is that the Ravens will not re-sign him, and I think he'll retire. If he doesn't retire, popular thought on the Ravens boards is that New England is a likely destination given the love affair Belichick has had with him over the years. If he plays, it's going to be for a team that is poised to make a run.

Don't really think that's true. Reed has always been a gambler, he just doesn't have the speed to recover when he makes a mistake now like he used to. I would think that with a young secondary you want your safety to be where he's supposed to be.
