Say Hello to Thaddeus Lewis, Your New Browns Starting QB

Weeden and McCoy are out with injuries. Josh Johnson was picked up off the street to be the back-up.

Thaddeus has not played in a regular season game (only pre-season action) and the last time he played a meaningful game, was three years ago at Duke.

He went to Duke. He hasn't played in a meaningful game since high school.

If I were a head coach, I would always throw a start at my third stringer once I was eliminated from the playoffs. If he happens to have a good game, the GM's around the league will get a boner and overpay for the bum via trade during the off season.

No league has worse talent evaluation than the NFL.

You're obviously not familiar with the $6m salary of Scott Gomez.

You mean the league where Omer Asik got a 3 year 25 million dollar deal coming off averaging 3 points per game doesn't count?

Amir Johnson thinks Asik is underpaid.

What the hell are you talking about?

I never offered an opinion on McElroy vs Tebow in terms of who should start. My stance all along is that the Jets have wasted/misused Tebow, that's all.

No, the league where Kurt Warner & Tom Brady retire on the bench if not for two cheap shots, and the league where GM's trip over each other to trade for guys like Kevin Kolb & Matt Flynn based on miniscule sample sizes in meaningless games.

It's incredibly hard to gauge just how much better the Browns got due to them being stuck in the toughest division in the AFC, but I think they did make some decent strides this year. I'm sure the Browns guys here can add on to this but every fucking game I watch of theirs they are running plays that don't even work in madden, and this is a few times a game. Some sort of double end around crap or some corny trick play with Cribbs that results in failure more often than not. Not sure if they change out OC's or not but they definitely should cut down on those plays that usually turn out to be just a waste of a down.

As far as this thread goes this will be a good future reference when we are all bullshitting about QBs that got one start. Colt McCoy is fucking done too, guy gets happy feet after the snap and he's in a division full of tough defenses.

An interesting what if. If both Warner & Brady end up in situations where they start right away in their rookie years...do they still become hall of fame QBs. Chicken and the egg shit.

Yes that is an interesting question considering it's impossible to answer unless you live in another universe. Do us all a favor and find a highway to walk across on New Year's eve.

Josh Johnson was Jim Harbaugh's first success story from when he was at USD.
