how will chip kelly do in the NFL?

just interested in opinions. seems like a foregone conclusion he will be coaching the browns. i have mixed feelings about anyone they hire (except gruden and cowher) simply because we have been a shit pile for so long.

i like Kellys agressive up tempo style. obviously his ducks offense wont work without an RG3 type guy. But i think he can adapt his style into a pro offense. I think people are so hung up on the read option he uses, but that wont be used in the NFL unless he is forced to use it like with a Tebow or something. there is a reason why college offenses are used in college and pro offenses are used in the NFL.

my concern is he is an unproven NFL coach. he has no NFL experience and the world is littered with these college guys who couldnt make the jump to the pros.

how do you folks think he will do in the NFL....and how do you think he will handle the browns if he is hired by us?

Both Seattle and San Francisco utilize the pistol, and the read option with success. Kelly's offense needs to have more pro elements in it, but he can bring his college stuff with him as long as he has the players to run those systems.

I think if he comes with the mindset that he will run it exactly like Oregon, I think it will fail. As long as he runs some form of prostyle in it, I think he'll be ok. I dont think the players in the NFL, specifically those with some miles on them can handle running that many plays. He will have to get some players though. I dont think the Browns (assuming that's where he goes) currently have that, so will they be patient with him?

Oregon doesn't realize that every recruit they go after now will hear "Chip Kelly will leave eventually, do you want to have a new head coach while you are there?" Once there is blood in the water, every coach knows to attack.

poor browns. i dont really care, but i think it makes haslem and banner look foolish. To go all in on a guy and then not get him.

imo, kelly had no plans on leaving. he was the story all during the BCS week no matter what game was on. He added more headlines for oregon and got himself a huge payday to stay

kudos to him for playing the role

rumor out of cleveland now says the browns might go after gruden....lol....this is the same media that said kelly was a lock. idiots.

Only job Chip should have (and probably did) consider was with the Panthers. Rivera stayed put so Chip did the same.

They've already been using that and it's done nothing to effect our recruiting. It actually helped last year as Kelly told recruits he couldn't guarantee he's be here their full 4 years. I believe that was 5 star Erik Armstead who said that but I can't remember now.
