Special teams coordinator Danny Crossman no longer with Detroit Lions

According to sources, the Detroit Lions have parted ways with special teams coordinator Danny Crossman.

It remains unclear if he it was Crossman's decision to leave the team or he was removed from his position by the organization.
There is speculation that Crossman will be hired by Buffalo, but regardless of where he ends up, it will not be on Detroit's sidelines next season.

Crossman came under fire early in the 2012 season after the Lions surrendered punt and kickoff returns for touchdowns in back-to-back games. The team did manage to shore up its coverage woes over the final 12 games, allowing just 6.2 yards per punt return and 20.5 yards per kickoff return during that stretch.

The Lions also finished last in net punt average and 31st on kickoff returns.

It was reported that Detroit requested permission to interview Cleveland Browns special teams coordinator Chris Tabor, but were denied by the team.

Another potential replacement for Crossman could be Alan Lowry, who was recently released by the Tennessee Titans, where he worked with Lions coach Jim Schwartz from 2000-08.

Crossman came under fire in 2012 after the Lions gave up a kickoff and punt return for a touchdown in back-to-back games early in the season.

LOL@Buffalo. Sorry for your gain. Why would anyone hire a guy who allowed a league worst record back to back games with 2 returns for touchdowns? Oh, and Stefan Logan......

Even as a Lions fan (although I'm happy with it), was this really new thread worthy?

Still don't know why we got rid of Lowry. He's the only assistant coach that was worth keeping in Tennessee.

I was also going to make a thread about how tv's douchebag Tim Ryan is the only guy to not vote Calvin as an All Pro. What a total fag bag that guy is.
