Reid has seven 7 division titles & 10 post season wins. Only 3 losing records in 14 seasons, and missed the playoffs in back to back seasons one time.

Smith made the playoffs a total of 3 times in 9 seasons, and ONCE in the last 6.

Why the outrage? Lovie Smith stinks.
Neither has won shit. Dont care about meaningless division titles. There is no outrage from this side but the question should be raised. Eagles were garbage the past few seasons while the Bears made the playoffs and won 10 games this past season and Smith cant get work.

No decision has been made, but the NFL likely will mandate that teams with returning head coaches include minority interviews for coordinator vacancies, hoping to broaden the pool of potential head-coaching candidates, one source said.
Doesn't really sound like that's the goal. The article I posted also mentions that there is consideration to set this up for team presidents as well. I'm about done with it, when the rule has run it's course yet they are still looking to expand it. There are many other things that the NFL should be focused on right now.

Wasn't saying the outrage was from you, but i've seen it in the media this week.

If you want to measure in absolutes, that's fine and I see your point. But personally I don't break things down in that way.

Reid should have been fired when they lost to the Cardinals in the playoffs in 08 I think?

It is about providing more opportunities by raising awareness. The impact of the RR will be that more minority candidates will be given opportunities and groomed to be executives and coaches. Again, I don't see the issue it's not as if teams are being prevented from hiring who they want.

How does being forced to interview someone grooming them for a position? No team is going to pick someone because of skin color to be their coordinator or head coach years down the road. It's all about what you do with the team on the field in your area of responsibility.

It isn't direct. The RR gives opportunities and raises awareness for minorities. The key word is awareness, which helps providing opportunities. Also, the more you interview the better you get at knowing how to sell yourself.

There hasn't been a time in history where whites freely have given minorities opportunities without some form of mandate.

what people dont understand is that without the rule minorities would not even have an opportunity to get their names considered. people want to believe that the best candidate should get the chance regardless of color. and in a perfect world that would be the case.

unfortunately the history of the NFL is littered with racist owners who wouldnt even give players a chance to play let alone coach. In todays NFL you still have the old guard way of thinking where 32 rich, white men control who they want to work with. And as owners it their right. But the rr at the very least provides minorities a chance to get a shot when they otherwise would not.

imo, the rule is nothing but a public relations hypocrisy because most of these white owners have no intentions of hiring the minorities they interview

This is such a dumb rule. I think NFL teams should be required to try out white runningbacks, the Peyton Hillis' of the world aren't getting a fair shake.

This isn't 1966, or even 1986. Blacks get the same opportunities in this day and age by-and-large

Tim Tebow got a chance to play RB but he turned it down.
