A fan was stabbed in the neck during an altercation outside the Georgia Dome following Sunday's NFC Championship Game, Channel 2 Action News in Atlanta reported.

The victim, an Atlanta Falcons fan, was stabbed after punching a San Francisco 49ers fan, witnesses told Channel 2 Action News. After being punched, the 49ers fan stabbed the Falcons fan in the throat area, according to the report.

The Falcons fan was transported to a hospital, but his condition is unknown, according to the report.

The 49ers defeated the Falcons, 28-24, on Sunday to reach the Super Bowl for the first time in 18 years.

Love watching NFL and the playoffs, but I swear, there are way too many crazy people who do stuff like this and take a game that is supposed to be a break from reality for the viewers way too seriously. I have a connection to two of my teams that probably beats out most other people, and I don't take it seriously enough to stab someone or go completely trash people on Facebook/Twitter just for supporting their team.

The Falcons fan had a punch back coming to him, not getting stabbed in the death. Even reading someone say that he "had it coming" is a bit disturbing. So punching someone deserves possibly getting killed? I don't think so. Jail time and/or a punch back of course, but you took it a bit too far my man.
