Steve Fairchild, the QB of this team, had transferred from San Diego Mesa College where he was a junior college All American. His QB coach was a young MIke Martz.

Martz hired Fairchild as Rams "offensive coordinator" (Martz always kept a token offensive coordinator on staff, even though he called all of the plays) in 2003.

Fairchild eventually ended up as the head coach at Colorado St, where he may have coached Mike's son, LB Tim Martz.
