Maybe this will get others to sign for less, maybe.

Yeah right. It shows how stupid some players are and how it is all about the money. You got one of the most elite QB's, top 3 easily on everyone's list, taking less money so his team can be competitive, and then you got fucks like Flacco and Revis who want to be the highest paid player at their position.

Any time I hear a player say they want to be the highest paid, you just want to slap them upside the head. And in Revis case, on a shit Jets team, they could use all the cap help.
All you need to know when thinking of the NHL vs Madden series is the two people involved in making the games.

      "rammer" and "cummings"

The NHL series is a giver, Madden takes the load.

I always think players should get their money while they can. For Brady I guess it is great what he did, but it really shouldn't be the norm. The minute these NFL guys under produce the teams cut or force them to restructure. Athletes are their own business and should approach contracts as such. Brady is in a unique position, because at this point he is playing for legacy and he is married to a woman that makes more than him.

Disagree, Brady is reportedly worth 100 million and Gisele is worth 150 million. Are we thinking he is doing this because of 50 million dollars? This is not the first time he has done this, the guy wants to win, this is not about his legacy, thats already is sealed.

He is one of the best of all time, probably behind Montana, how much more can he add to his legacy?

Uh how about ahead of Montana? I don't think Brady wants to be behind anyone.

1 more ring would tie him for most all time. 2 more would give the most. I think he is going to play in 1 more super bowl before he's done. Winning it would do a great deal for his legacy as there would be no one in the history of football with more super bowl wins or appearances than him.

He wouldn't even have more than his own head coach...

Maybe, but I hope so as a life long fan since the days of Steve Grogan/Jim Plunket, I surely hope so. But as we have seen, it's not that easy to do.

First off, this deal gives him more guaranteed money. This deal gives him a 30 million signing bonus with 57 million in guaranteed monies. What it does do is free up more free agency money for better players over the next 5 years but we know that. I believe it freed up over 14 million per season. And it does prevent him in two years from going to FA which is when he could have made an obscene amount on money from some team, I have heard figures of 60 million per season would have been his worth. So, I guess that's where the "less money" comments are coming from, but in reality he is getting more money than his current deal.

Anyone using Gisele is being silly. As I pointed out, they are fairly close in wealth but also, who has the long term career? Gisele or Tom? Brady can basically advertise selling ice to eskimos for the rest of his life in New England, making lord knows how much in endorsement money. Nevermind the offers he will get to be a talking head or color commentator. Brady also has national appeal like when Montana retired and used his face for a lot of products. His peak in his life after football is limitless financially speaking. How long is the lifetime of a model? She is 32, has spit out two kids, and it is safe to say on the back side of her career. Brady is worth more in the long run and over time.

You're silly. She has way more than he does and in the end is worth alot more.

Ummm Currently he is worth 100 million not including yesterday's 30 million signing bonus and she is worth 150 million. That's pretty close in personal worth.

I guess she made 14 million last year and Brady will be making 13 million per season. So, really there is so little difference in personal wealth is not worth a mention unless you like to
