The history of wide outs being traded for first rounders doesn't bode well for Seattle here.Comment

Profootballtalk.com reports Percy Harvin's new Seahawks deal is worth $67 million over six seasons, with only $14.5 million fully guaranteed.
Another $11 million is guaranteed for injury, but this is a smaller deal than Harvin was probably expecting. It's actually worth just slightly less than Dwayne Bowe's in annual average, making Harvin -- for now -- the NFL's fifth highest paid receiver behind Calvin Johnson, Larry Fitzgerald, Mike Wallace, and Bowe. And the low guaranteed total protects the Seahawks. Seattle gave up a draft-pick haul for Harvin, but this looks like a great deal for the club.Comment

Harvin is only 24.. if he were in this draft, I guarantee he goes higher than 25th overall.Originally posted by ram29jacksonI already said months ago that Seattle wasn't winning any SBComment

It is a lot of money to invest in a receiver for a team that doesn't really need an elite one to get to the super bowl.
Boldin and Crabtree can both work the middle of the field as can Davis. Davis can also stretch the field. All 3 work well with the Niners run/playaction game. It would help the Niners a lot of AJ Jenkins can develop into the speedy 1st round WR that they expected him to become, but for a team that is built around defense and the running the ball, an elite WR is not necessary.
Look at the Steelers, and Ravens, for that matter. Two teams that built themselves around running the ball and playing hard nosed D that have been in playoff contention for pretty much a decade.
What the Niners need more, in my opinion, is a second tight end. Delanie Walker, even though he didn't have the best hands, came through with some huge plays last year that won games. With the amount of 2 TE sets the Niners run, a second TE is essential for Harbaugh. If you watched him coach at Stanford, the tight ends were always the biggest players in the passing game because the offense is built on running the ball and playaction.Comment
