You have to understand how bad their run defense was at times last season though. They now have a 4 man rotation at 3-4 DE and they can also move Ngata over to NT (Mnt Cody has been a bust) which is also probably his more natural position.

I knew our run defense was shit. Never got better after the Chiefs game (Charles ran for 140 on us).

So yes Canty, Spears, Arthur Jones, and Pernell Mcphee will most definitely be a upgrade from last year.

Not to mention Ozzie loves taking veteran D-lineman, who play at a high level after signing (EX: Corey Redding & Trevor Pryce).
