Aaron Rodgers about to be highest paid player in NFL History

    Per Schefter:

Packers and Aaron Rodgers getting closer to long-term contract extension that would make the Green Bay QB the highest-paid player in NFL history.

I'd say he's deserving of being the highest paid in this league.

Hey guys, every time someone becomes the highest paid player today it will be the highest paid in history by default, we don't need to keep pretending the distinction matters much.

Considering reports say Rodgers will get between 23 and 25 mil average annually I think Flacco would be pushing his luck a bit don't you think?

No player is worth about 1.5 million per game. That is just stupid.

Aaron Rodgers is the difference between the Packers being a 6-7 win team and them being a 11-12 win team. Pay the man whatever he wants.

You say that because you're a Packers fan

I say that because I know this team inside and out and Rodgers is THAT valuable.

Still not worth it. Nobody is worth that much money, regardless of who they are or what sport they're playing.

It should be performance based, as in current performance. Throw a TD, get $100 (or whatever). Personally, I think he has peaked and to pay him that much is only based on the past and all they will be doing is paying for declining ability.

That is like you buying a car and after 5 years, you have to pay more money for it. Bad example , I know but I'm sure you get my point.

Okay, what I just said is stupid but I still think its too much money.

                            Here is my real point...

He will get paid more per game, a one hour game , than I will make in my entire life.

That is just stupidly insane, and that isn't a poke at him personally.

Yes, Aaron Rodgers peaked two years ago when he had the best season of any QB in the history of the sport. You're right about that.
