Schiano Not On Board With Freeman

    Rotoworld

The Tampa Bay Times reports the Bucs' organization is generally committed to Josh Freeman, but coach Greg Schiano is not "on board."

Per beat writer Stephen Holder, "everything you’ve read and heard" about the Bucs pursuing free-agent quarterbacks has been driven by Schiano. They checked in on Matt Cassel, Carson Palmer, and Chase Daniel and are now expected to drafted a middle-round QB. Schiano joined the Bucs last season, three years after the organization used the No. 17 overall pick on Freeman. However, the only "competition" the Bucs have actually signed is incumbent backup Dan Orlovsky. Even if they draft a quarterback, Schiano appears content to let this be a make-or-break season for Freeman.

Meh. Doing what every good coach should do, bring about competition at every position. Its Freemans job to lose but he hasnt had anyone to push him since he has been our QB. Contract year, will you seize the moment young man? Get your Flacco on

If it wasnt for those 2 4 int games I would agree. All of those ints werent his fault but 8 ints in 2 games is unacceptable. His best season was 2010.

If he didn't like Freeman at all he shouldn't have taken the job. Simple as that.

That last sentence gives me the sense of Schiano wanting him to fail just to get a new QB. I'd say they didn't make the playoffs because of one of the leagues worst pass defenses. Go and secure Revis and stop worrying about "competition" for Freeman.

Freeman's kind of "meh", but to replace him with Chase Daniel would be ludicrous.

I actually think Freeman can be successful. We will have to see how he does in the second year in this offense. The talent is there, he's got to step up and perform like he's done before.
