    Seahawks Sign Antoine Winfield

    Seahawks agreed to terms with CB Antoine Winfield, formerly of the Vikings, on a one-year contract.

    Winfield, 36 in June, picked the Seahawks over the Vikings and Redskins. His addition is a massive upgrade on injury-prone burn victim Marcus Trufant, who manned the slot for Seattle last season. Sandwiching Winfield between Richard Sherman and Brandon Browner gives Seattle arguably the top corner trio in the league. The Seahawks' roster has no holes outside of a partially questionable offensive line. They're shaping up as the early Super Bowl favorite.

      As much as I love Trufant, former Coug and a great Seahawk over the years, he shouldn't have been out on the field last year. Age and injuries have caught up to him, Trufant had trouble covering anybody and was always and automatic first down in you threw his way. This signing should really help.

          Winfield is the ideal nickel corner for us.. excellent defender against the run and can handle most slot guys since the deeper coverage will be provided by Sherman/Browner and Thomas/Chancellor.

          Such a solid addition. Now all they have to do is draft a OLB and fill in other pieces and this team is ready to roll

                  This doesnt seem fair with all the guys they've picked up after the season they had. It must be a great team to be a Seahawks fan.
