For his career Tebow has a QB rating of 75 over 14 career starts with a 17/9 TD/INT ratio, 2400 yards and 6.7 YPA. Additionally he has 989 rushing and 12 TD. That gives Tebow a combined 3400 yards (rounded) and 29 TD.

Here are 7 other "franchise" QB's with comparable/worse statistics last season.

    Brandon Weeden, 72 rating, 14/17 TD/INT, 6.5, 3400.

    Tannehill, 76, 12/13, 6.8, 3100.

    Cutler, 81, 19/14, 7.0, 3000.

    Sanchez, 66, 13/18, 6.4 2900.

    Bradford, 82. 21/13, 6.7 3700.

    Ponder, 81, 18/12, 6.1, 2900 (+253 rushing)

Even the prodigy, Andrew Luck, isn't substantially better with QB rating of 76, 23/18 ratio, 7.0 YPA and threw for 4300. He chipped in 255 rushing with 5 TD. That gives Luck 4500 and 28 TD.He has an extra 1000 yards over about 250 passing attempts (about 130 fewer rushing).

Then you have Vick, Locker, Cassel, Quinn who were all "starters" at one point or another last year.

I'm not saying Tebow is a good QB, but he produced just as well during his opportunity as a lot of other guys. However, I do not think that there are 30 QBs who are better than him.

Kind of comparing him to the bottom of the barrel, no?

I would say Bradford etc putting up comparable numbers when being forced to throw the ball a lot or as a main part of the offense >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Tebow putting up pedestrian numbers when all he is asked to do is throw to keep a team off balance(20 times a game) and completes passes as a less than 50% clip. Hell even Ponder was throwing around 30 times a game.

Weeden, Ponder and Sanchez were recent first round picks (Sanchez now being a more distant first rounder, but was #3 overall IIRC).. I obviously separated Cassel and Quinn from the "franchise QB" category.

If history has taught us anything though it's that the Jets, Browns and Vikings don't know dick when it comes to evaluating QBs.

          5th overall.

But even still...if you're only going to throw the ball 20 times a game..you better do it more efficiently. Tebow had his offense figured out pretty quickly. He's 1-4 in his last 5 starts and was getting embarrassed in the losses. He's a gimmick player. I just think all production isn't equal. Vick and Cam Newton were and are far more effective runners and even they were able to shit all over Tebow's passing numbers at times and be a feared passer and complete 50% of their passes.

Also, if we're being completely accurate, ND fans don't need to wait until their big name QBs hit the pros to see them flop.

This just proves why QB rating is such a flawed statistic.

And really the only QB on that list I consider putting Tebow over is Mark Sanchez. LOL at comparing Andrew Luck to Tim Tebow though.

That's how bad Tebow is.. Seattle is like "you know what, if Russell Wilson goes down we're going to see where we go with BRADY QUINN and JERROD JOHNSON"..

                              Jesus fucking Christ almighty.

Do the words "I DON'T THINK HE'S AN NFL QB, HE SHOULD SWITCH POSITIONS" get deleted out of all of my posts?

Are you all illiterate? I thought I was actually writing words down.

Here, lets try again: Tim Tebow is not, nor will he ever be, an NFL QB. He would do better for his career if he switched positions. He is still the all time SEC and NCAA leader in several passing categories, with multiple completions over 10-20 yards.

Side note: I have watched Tebow since he was in high school. He won multiple national championships at my alma mater. He is my avatar and has been for years. My opinion of him will not change because of what he has/not accomplished at the professional level.

Fuck Brady Quinn, fuck Jamarcus Russell, fuck Peyton manning and most of all fuck Charlie ward. Mostly because he's from F$U.

LOL at this thread and at Sven right now. Sven usually does better work in these threads. Anyways, are you really going to compare numbers when discussing QBs? This is the NFL, not baseball. You can't just put TD/INT up and use that alone to grade NFL players. You have to look at the tape and see the decisions the QBs make, etc.

Obst's GIFs are 100x more valid to the point of whether or not Tim Tebow deserves to be an NFL QB than the comparative numbers of other bad QBs. Tebow gets outplayed at practice, c'mon now.
