I wonder if his brother will redeem the Carr family name next year.
Could David Carr have been good/great?

This is an interesting strategy. Does anyone have the number for Dave Kreig's agent?Comment

I dont remember his name but he was a star LT with the Jags and they picked him up in the supplemental draft and he got injured I believe before the 2002 season so they did have what initially looked like a decent o-line until their best lineman got injured. Thats some bad luck.Comment

I meant expansion draft I minced my words.
And I also know that some teams got rid of quality players in expansion drafts just to get rid of bloated contracts (Jamie Sharper).
I also know they were planning on him being their LT and the he got injured. Did not know he was injured prior to that.
Give me a break.Comment

If you watched Carr, it wasn't like all those sacks were due to his line. He would hold onto the ball way too long and even when he tried to pass, his throwing motion wasn't exactly lightning fast. Yes, he had a bad O-Line, but I think that could be said about almost every team who is picking first overall in the draft. He had flaws that were only worsened by his offensive line.Comment

Give a break guys. He was busy scouting maternity wards during the Texans expansion draft.Comment

I think he was just overrated coming out of Fresno St...no big deal, happens all the time. He could have been serviceable, but got ruined by getting an expansion team hamstrung by new expansion rules. Would have been better to have wound up on a team that didn't have castoffs up and down the o-line.Comment

Man, looking back on the 2002 Draft, three QBs were taken in the first round, and all were total disappointments. Carr, Harrington and Ramsey. I remember being at the Redskins draft party at Fedex for this one, and they kept trading back after Harrington was taken before Spurrier could get him.Comment

i dunno.. now that the rules have changed where you can't breathe on WR and the QB has a strike zone where you're allowed to hit him, i think these middle of the road kids will have better success. Drafting a QB in the top 5-10 if your team has a shitbum offensive line is just asking for the kid to turn into David Carr unless he's a scrambler type like RG3, Cam etc.Comment
Spurrier screwed with Ramsey. A kid with that arm and work ethic could have succeeded if not ruined by Spurrier and his idiocy. I'm a firm believer that Ramsey would still be our starter right now if he had worked with Schottenheimer instead of the Ol Ball Sack.
thats the only part i dont agree with......he would have much better with Schottz and Redskins wasted time with Spurrier.
as far as Carr or any QB for that matter;
if you dont have crappy OL, you are screwed. which me kind a wonder where Marino would have been without his OL.3rd & 14, inside your own 15, up 6, 3:20min left to go = call a PA Pass and Cancel. *its Legit, so no needless complainingComment
