Years ago teams used to run a WR at the safety just so he would have to pick the player up and it would open up some room for outside throws. You never threw the ball to the guy unless he was past the safety and open because he would get destroyed. QBs that threw this pass were sold out pretty quickly by their WR and lineman and out of the league. Peyton Manning comes in and does it, yells at his WR when he drops it, dude gets killed and they plug in a new one that will hold on to the ball. Now we have rules where you can't touch the WR on these routes until they get both hands on the ball, both feet down, turn their head and do a little dance or you're flagged 15 yards.
I blame Peyton. What say you?
