There have been plenty of rumblings the Giants had talked with the Browns about a trade for their top wide receiver, Braylon Edwards. Those rumors had revolved around the Giants' sending defensive end Mathias Kiwanuka to Cleveland.

I had heard nothing to substantiate the rumors, so I didn't mention them here.
But Ken Palmer of The Giant Insider reported today that, while the Giants never dangled Kiwanuka, they did inquire about Edwards.

I really hope that if the Browns decide to trade Edwards, they make a better deal than that.

Edwards was hurt and didnt play in preseason or even practice until week 1 last year. I think he will be fine, even though he had a terrible season. Last thing we need is a 4-3 DE in a 3-4 system. Kiwanuka would have to play OLB, and I think there are better options for that position.

It would make me want to watch the Giants. Without Plax, they are just boring to me.

The Giants could even start a drop counter so people can count how many times he drops the ball every game, like how baseball fans count strikeouts.

Winning and good chemistry will help the dropsies. Hes always going to have issues with his hands, but they werent as prevalent when the Browns were actually winning games a couple seasons ago.

In my opinion it had more to do with him being healthy than anything else. Dude didnt touch a football during mini-camp or any of the preseason then expected to just step on the field and perform.... that didnt work out too well.

Id prefer for the Browns to keep him, (T.O. STILL has more drops than him since hes been in the league) but if they do decide to trade him, I hope they get something that will make more sense than Kiwanuka.

Giants wouldnt trade Kiwi for him.
A, Giants are a Run first team.
                    B. We aren't going to pull off a Cowboys/Roy Williams type trade.
                    C. If we do trade for him it would be one of our 2nds.

kiwi is the man. i dont want to see him go for edwards ... but if plax isnt coming back i wouldnt be surprised if they did try to trade for a WR. domenick hixon and steve smith, while solid players, wont be striking fear into any defense. just look at the end of last year for the giants without a deep threat ... 8 in the box every single play

Mathias Kiwankua isnt the man. Dude cant cover for shit. Giants dotn have room for him if he stays DE. But im guessing since everyone is healthy, he'll move back to OLB where he can get owned and break his leg again.

no crap. he played LB for one game and they moved him back. lol @ having too many DE's. i think it worked pretty well for the giants when they won the SB two years ago
