Where Does AP End Up Among The All-Time Leading Rushers?

After 6 seasons, Adrian Peterson is nearly half way to the all-time mark of 18,355 yards by Emmitt Smith. He has 8,849 yards and turned 28 shortly after the Superbowl. Actively, Steven Jackson is the only running back with more yards at 10,135, but he's certainly on his way down. Frank Gore is the only other in the conversation with only 10 less yards than AP, but he just turned 30 recently and has played 29 more games. I think we all assume he'll get into the top 10 all time, but where does he end up?

    1. Emmitt Smith 18,355
    2. Walter Payton 16,726
    3. Barry Sanders 15,269
    4. Curtis Martin 14,101
    5. LaDainian Tomlinson 13,684
    6. Jerome Bettis 13,662
    7. Eric Dickerson 13,259
    8. Tony Dorsett 12,739
    9. Jim Brown 12,312
    10. Marshall Faulk 12,279

I agree with Bomber, AP will pass Martin, but his knee will give out again at some point, thus solidifying him not catching Barry...

In between Bettis and Dickerson at best.

No matter what math I do he still doesn't get far past Martin IMO either. He runs way to hard to play with much longevity.

That said, dude is a freak and is liable to go for 2k again barring injury. He's the total package and I actually feel blessed to watch him play because he's a legend in the making. If anyone in this era is going to challenge the big three its him.

Runs way too violent for his body to hold out more than 4 years, at his expected level at least. If he averages around 1300 for 5 years he can surpass Barry, I think thats a realistic expectation so he will finish 3rd between Sweetness and the GOAT.

Peterson will be a Hall of Famer...but I just get the notion he'll hit the wall really hard, when he does. I'll say he finishes in the 13,000's.

i gonna go a limb and say he doesnt even make the Top 10.
he is a Beast and is LUCKY to have had the year he had last, after that ACL injury.
i dont wish him any injury in anyway but his style of running is going to get him hurt again.
plus he needs a solid consistent 5-7 more years in the NFL to achieve those numbers. that is NOT easy in today's NFL.....
3rd & 14, inside your own 15, up 6, 3:20min left to go = call a PA Pass and Cancel. *its Legit, so no needless complaining

At 7 more solid, consistent years, he'd be the all-time leading rusher. He only needs 2.5 more years of his solid production to reach the top 10.

he already 28. in NFL years; he is getting old. by 30, he is gonna be pretty banged up.

again; i dont wish him injury in anyway.

28 already , has a repaired knee , and a style not condusive to longevity. All logic says he'll be in the Bettis range.

On the optimistic side he plays in a pansy league which just outlawed even more violent driven tactics so his style may not be an issue. The most remarkable thing to me was that hes a half step slower than he used to be and still got 2K. Like it or not only 2-3 guys have had any real success after 30 , AP has the freakazoid body that can do well past that though.

                            BTW
                            Greatest RB this gen.

                            Tomlinson or AP ?
Best reason to have a license.

I wouldnt be surprised if he doesnt make the top 10 but if he does Im thinking it will be somewhere between 6-9.
