We got our first taste of NFL Sunday Ticket on the PS3 back in 2011, but now Sony has confirmed it's not available for the 2013 - 2014 season. IGN asked PlayStation reps why the app would not be active this season and they wouldn't confirm any specific reasons. For its part, DirecTV told us it's working on enhancing the experience for new and existing satellite customers, although those who can't get satellite TV can still sign up for the mobile / web streaming package. That league commissioner Roger Goodell recently made a cameo in Microsoft's Xbox One launch event probably isn't a total coincidence, but the package won't be available there either, at least not for this season.

I still feel a large number of people will be getting the wrong message and be pissed when it doesn't work. Have to wait and see, but I doubt the guy at the cash register is going to know (correctly) how it works. I feel bad for those not on forum boards and just know the Manning commercial they saw.Comment

This is such horseshit. I'll have to actually get up and walk to my family room every morning now.
Guess I don't need the multiplatform package anymore though. Way to cost yourselves some money DIRECtV

Dont know how you guys put up with streaming for NFL.
Is there no accounting for quality and the ability to pause and record ?
Enhancements always = enhancing the way to raise prices. Ugh. Directv probably paid NFL some extra dough to keep it off consoles.Best reason to have a license.

I just go with RedZone every Sunday and then I am purchasing the $70 NFL Game Rewind. I can watch every Cowboys game in 30 mins with it. I wasn't happy with the quality of the Sunday Ticket two years ago and cancelled after a few weeks and was given a full refund. Not sure if they enhanced the quality, but, at first it was awful.Maddon & Friedman: Pissing off the AL East since 2008
