Oregon State was way overrated last year (lol at people thinking they were the best Oregon team) and it looks like they are still crap this season. Not to take anything away from Eastern Washington (ranked #3), but this upset doesn't surprise me too much.

Chuckie Keaton looks really good, Utah State is a fun mid-major to watch.

Did anybody see the Cal-Northwestern game? So many "injuries", at one point NW had 3 guys get "hurt" on 3 consecutive plays. Shit was hilarious, everybody cramping up.

Washington State looked a lot better than last season and I think we will challenge for a bowl. Our offensive line made up of 3 walkons did well against a SEC defensive line, but our downfall is inconsistent QB play which kills the Air Raid. Connor Halliday kept turning it over and couldn't convert a late 4th down in Auburn territory.

WVU was missing their best WR, but that is still no excuse.

could have pulled an Urban and tried to score again, but instead he kneeled 3 times inside the W&M 5 to end the game...

All 4 RB's look strong, and the WRs show flashes, but I did not like what I saw from Millard: all of his throws were 0-10 yds, save for two, and against a good D, this dink and dunk shit wont work....

Defense looked good, that McBride kid for W&M made two circus catches on deep balls that directly led to their TDs (one which came right after holgz decided to try a 55 yd FG into the wind, giving them a short field), and Millard gave them a short field once, but the D held and kept them to a FG... Needs more improvement, but at least they didnt miss tackles or leave people wide open like last year...

I have faith will right the Offense, and the D looked markedly improved, so I'm not jumping off bridges just yet like some fans...

Urban really got the masses rolling with the two point attempts. Buckeyes looked how they always do at the start...shaky. Braxton and Co. will settle down and find their groove. Also, the Bucks have 7 new starters on defense.

SDSU does make me worry. Rocky Long and Urban Meyer have a history and Rocky has beaten him in the past. It'll be interesting to see how the Aztecs respond to their opening week loss.

Unfortunately for us, Jake was in the stands for the McNeese State game.

                        Here are my thoughts...

*On one hand, teams like E. Washington and E. Illinois and even McNeese are really good lower level teams. I don't know why an AD would schedule his school against teams like these, because there is nothing to gain. On the other hand, the way Oregon State gave up 49 and the way UConn and USF got stomped is pretty inexcusable.

*Mike Riley has been at Oregon State for awhile now (term 2)...surprised how long he's been given a free ride considering how the program usually underachieves.

*Is this Kirk Ferentz's last year at Iowa?

*Of the teams I watched, I think LSU was the most impressive/surprising. FSU having a QB who can complete passes was also an eye-opener. Both schools could be in the national championship game, methinks.

*Boise State getting crushed by Washington was an unexpected result...perhaps Washington can be a true contender in the Pac10 after years of mediocrity.

*Does the Big East still have a football conference? Serious question.

Thanks. The new name doesn't rhyme with "Big Least", though.
