Browns have new owner, new coach, new coordinators...same old result
Pros -
The defense had moments of looking good, but they could only hang in there for so long.
Joe Haden and Joe Thomas
Cons -
The secondary looked horrible, minus Joe Haden.
Buster Skryn shouldnt even be in the NFL but he starts for us.
Onil Cousins is a horrible backup RG.
The offensive line minus Joe Thomas, played like shit.
The play calling was as piss poor as its been for the past 10 years. On what planet do you live on where you have a backup RB line up on the left side and have him rotate to the right to block the defense best pass rusher as part of a designed pass blocking scheme?
Weeden looked like Weeden.
WR's still cant catch
Run Blocking was terrible.
TRich is not a good running back. Take the hand off and run downhill. YOU ARE NOT BARRY FUCKING SANDERS! stop dancing at the line expecting to make a huge gain out of it! FUCKING GOD DAM IT! -

Pros -
*Not getting Goose Egg'd.
*A high draft pick broke a franchise record...
Cons -
*...said player was the fucking PUNTER with ELEVEN PUNTS.
*Having nothing to look forward to until upcoming Saturdays if I want to see what a win (or something close to one) looks like.
*6 sacks on the second coming of David Carr.
*Getting beat by a Walrus dressed up like the Kool-Aid Man.
*The Goddamn Team Logo looks like a failed Disney character.Comment

PROS
- Defensive Line was eating Bucs lunch up...we shut down the explosive Martin and made Freeman look uncomfortable. Mo Wilk is such a beast.
- LB corps was good...it helps to have a front 3-4 that can do damage but Harris was everywhere. Barnes was a force as a pass rusher. Davis made the unheralded play of the game chasing down VJax from scoring a TD. That FG kept the Jets within FG range.
- Geno played very well. He had those two bad turnovers but considering the Bucs have a dominant run defense, and the Bucs have a damn good secondary, Geno managed the game well. We saw some semblance of a screen game and his legs extended drives (and led to David's dumb ass penalty)
CONS
- Cro playing off of VJax...gotta play closer and play more bump and run.
- Run game was non-existant but again, Bucs have a dominant run defense.
- 5 sacks, gotta clean that up offensive line.Originally posted by Nick MangoldWes Welker is a great player. He's really taken advantage of watching film. If we don't keep a Spy on him, he could really open the Gate.Comment

Pros:
-Stafford was great. He looked comfortable and was clicking. The only thing that stopped him was the drops by the WR.
-Reggie Bush was great and did everything everyone imagined he would do here in a perfect world.
-Burleson and Bell provided some targets for Stafford and hung on to the ball.
-They won without Calvin being heavily involved.
-Defensive line was great stuffing the run and pressuring Ponder all day. Defense came up with crucial turnovers as well.
-O-line was great, especially Riley Reiff who handled Jared Allen well.
Cons:
-Easily Brandon Pettigrew. Why is this guy along with Sheffler on this team? They suck, cant catch, and make too much money. They are awful 1-2 punch at the position.
-The mental errors. This team just never learns it seems. Suh cost us a TD on a cheap block that wasn't needed, Delmas taunted even though he sucks ass and dint make the tackle, the holding calls killed a lot of drives for us, the botched FG snap hurt, and Calvin needs to be able to make those plays that should've been TDs. He's better than that.
-Schwartz use of the timeouts were very piss poor. In a different scenario that could be costly.Comment

Pros
- Offensive line!!! YAY! A huge difference a year makes. 4 new starters, and man did they handle themselves nicely. Jay was not sacked once. Hit maybe 4 times all game.
- Jay Cutler. Played very well. More importantly, he kept his composure.
- WR corps. B Marsh was himself, Alshon had a decent game, and Marty Bennett chipped in. Anything other than not throwing to Marshall every play is an upgrade.
- Marc Trestman. Stayed true to his plan, which was keeping Jay upright, and made some quality adjustments for the second half.
- Defenses ability to force turnovers is still there.
They played as a team today, and got a very important win against what I think is a quality team in Cincy.
Cons
- Defense gave up scoring drives of 93, 91, and 80. Ouch.
- Matt Forte running just annoyed me today. Chose the wrong hole a couple times. Seems a bit soft at times.
- Offense was a bit off in the 1st. Coming back isnt something they should try to get used to.
- Julius Peppers.Comment

+ Geno looked pretty good, was able to make a couple of key throws and ran well when the pocket collapsed.
+ Defense looked good at times, we were able to get a decent rush
+Got the win
- Geno made a couple of rookie throws
- Our safeties are meh, Landry messed up big time by not wrapping up on Jackson late in the game
- Needed to get lucky to get the winComment

Cons
- David Wilson...Games dont get much worse than that. Fumble inside the opponent's 10 yard line and another fumble that was recovered for a TD. Even when he did end up hanging onto the ball there was nothing happening. I still think Wilson can be a great player but he really needs to go the Tiki Barber school of holding onto the ball, and needs to sure up his pass blocking. There was a critical missed block by him down on the goal line. Huge play ability doesn't mean anything when you can't hold onto the ball.
- Defensive Line...Take away the 2 sacks (which yes did come at a very opportune time) Romo had all the time in the world back there for the majority of the game. Defense is all about creating pressure on the QB and there was barely any in the game last night. Give any QB time in the pocket and they will pick you apart.
- Boneheaded Eli plays...No better way to set the tone of the game than an awful INT on the first play of the game on a screen that was sniffed out from the start. You could place the blame of the last INT that basically ended the game on Da'Rel Scott for not turning around in time or Eli throwing it too quickly. Either way, poor decision with the game on the line. And of course lets not forget Eli's patented left-handed underhand shovel pass while being dragged to the ground that made an appearance last night. Somehow it wasnt picked off like it usually is.
- LB's...Terrible in coverage as usual. Dan Connor seems like an upgrade but weren't able to see much of him after leaving with an injury.
Pros
+ Eli...already discussed his usual bonehead plays but on the flip side Eli looked very sharp and picked apart the defense with ease at times last night. When everything is clicking Eli looks like one of the best QB's in the league.
+ Secondary...the stats say they gave up a lot of yards through the air but most of that was due to a lack of pass rush that let the WR's run around forever and get open. Strong showings from Terrell Thomas coming off back to back knee surgeries, Ryan Mundy with a huge INT, and even Aaron Ross after being pushed into a starting roll after Amukamara went down
+ Hakeem Nicks and Victor Cruz...best one two WR combo in the league? Certainly in the discussion.
+ Offensive line...with the run basically being abandoned all game they held up fairly well pass blocking all game. Justin Pugh looked great in his first NFL game.
+ At least David Wilson didnt cry on national TV last nightComment

Pros:
+ Front 7 is fucking dominant
+ Quentin Mikell is a substantial upgrade at safety and could be a huge difference maker
+ Cam took care of the football
+ Kuechly has so much more space to roam with a nice d-line rotation taking up blockers
+ Had the Seahawks beat, Wilson running for his life
+ Was upset with the result being a loss, but this team did show major strides in a positive direction
Cons:
-DeAngelo Williams 16 for 76 is good against the Seahawks, but TWO fumbles, only losing one, but inside the 10 yd line down 5 with 5 to go? Fuck yourself.
-Greg Oslen had a couple drops, could of had a monster day
-Playcalling was shit most of the day, if you want to run on Seattle Tolbert should of got more 1st down carries to try and soften up the defense
-A loss, while leading in the 4th quarter against this year's trendy SB pick, you HAVE to win that game and make a statement
-Ron Rivera... I'm hoping for a losing season just to get rid of him. He can't coach a team. Truly believe almost any other coach in the league would of won that game with how the defense played, no discipline, no balls, vanilla bullshit and barely any emotion.
-Frank Alexander was selfish, throwing a punch and being ejected when his team needed him most
-Penalties gave the Seahawks so many opportunities, need discipline, and Armond Smith needs to immediately be cut, called for the same special teams penalty TWO fucking times.Comment

Pros:
- What a difference a coaching change makes. Granted, Jerry Gray wasn't fired, but the addition of Gregg Williams paid huge dividends yesterday. Despite having one of the worst defenses in NFL history last season, there was a lot of talent throughout the unit, but Gray's conservative style wouldn't allow that talent to make a difference. Gregg dialed up numerous blitzes, disguised coverages, and never allowed Big Ben to feel comfortable.
- Jurrell Casey, Zach Brown, and Jason McCourty all would get game balls from me. Casey destroyed the Steelers interior line and might be the most dominant DT we've had since a 2008 Albert Haynesworth. Brown was in on almost every tackle and has picked up from where he left off on his strong rookie year (fuck your "allergic to contact" comment Mike Mayock). I'm not sure McCourty gave up a catch all day. When they did throw in his direction, he blanketed Antonio Brown and Emmanuel Sanders, and wouldn't give the WRs a chance to catch anything.
- Michael Griffin. I didn't hear his name, so that's a good thing.
- Running game. The numbers weren't pretty, but they set the tone for the game. Numerous 3rd and 1s and 4th and 1s were converted that weren't last year because of the upgrade of power backs (Javon Ringer/Jamie Harper to Shonn Greene/Jackie Battle). 's stats were unimpressive, but he didn't try to go for the homerun every time last the last few seasons. Besides the Jarvis Jones big hit, I can't remember if he lost yards on a carry.
Neither Pros nor Cons:
- Jake Locker. Again, the numbers suggest that he didn't play well, but box score analysts are horrible people. He did miss some passes and was hurt from some drops, but no turnovers in his first start against a Dick LeBeau defense? Try finding a quarterback who has done that before. His mobility in the pocket extended some plays, and he completed four first down passes - two of which were from 10 yards out or longer.
Cons:
- Darius Reynaud. No words needed.
- Momentum-killing penalties. There were a few drives that could have ended in points, but something stupid such as a chop block or a personal foul halted everything. This has always been a problem it seems.
- Drops. Damian Williams had a big drop on a 3rd and 15 conversion.
Good win, especially considering the Titans never start off the season on a good note and it was against Pittsburgh. I don't think the defense is the top five unit it showed it was yesterday, but they're certainly a lot better than last season's group. On the flip side, the offense isn't as bland as they suggested yesterday either. Next week at Houston will provide a nice test.
