    Pros

-Defense causing turnovers. I don't care if it was a bad overthrow by Eli or if the ball bounced off of someone's shoulder into our hands. In the past, we never made that play and it was kind of refreshing to see something different for a change.

-Offensive line. Really held the Giants pass rush in check. Gave Romo a ton of time in the pocket and even blocked decently enough to give us a respectable run game. When Waters comes in at RG we should have a pretty decent line, for once.

-Dwayne Harris. Played lights out on special teams last night.

-Demarco Murray. Solid in the run game. Solid in the pass game. Busted his ass to save a pick 6 and the defense held them to 3. MVP last night.

-Dan Bailey. I can't overstate how awesome it is to have such a reliable kicker.

    Cons

-Terrence Williams. Don't pull a double move on your QB.

    -Penalties. Lawl.

Overall a pretty solid game by the Boys. Offense could be a bit crisper in the red zone but we actually scored two touchdowns. The defense/ST was able to force 6 turnovers which is something like 37% of what we forced all of last year. I'm not too worried about all the yards the defense gave up, which seems to be what everyone is complaining about. They played a bend but don't break defense and put us in position to win. The Giants had one really good drive that I remember but other than that they didn't do much.

Excited to get my hopes up only to be crushed again.

      Pros
Rodgers carved up the 49ers secondary
Cobb, Finley and Nelson all looked sharp
The patched together O-Line did a reasonable job projecting Rodgers against such a strong defense
Lacy looked better running the ball as the game wore on
The defense played much better against the read option

      Cons
      Pass defense was non existent
      Critical fumble by Lacy
Critical penalty by Clay Matthews led to a 49ers TD
Could not get off of the field on 3rd down

        Pros:

-Rookies CBs stepped up nicely with Asante out. I thought they'd get raped by Brees but they proved me wrong. Confidence booster for sure.
-D-Line had some nice pressure, not much on 3rd downs though.
-Harry Douglas had nice plays, nice to see him contributing more, especially since Roddy is banged up.

        Cons:
        - 4 tries in the redzone and couldn't get in when it mattered.
        - O-line is going to get Ryan killed
        - Offense is little too conservative at times, don't think they took a shot deep the entire game. Take chances!
        - Akeem Dent looked lost out there, dude didn't know who to cover.

              - Offensive line!!! YAY! A huge difference a year makes. 4 new starters, and man did they handle themselves nicely. Jay was not sacked once. Hit maybe 4 times all game.
              - Jay Cutler. Played very well. More importantly, he kept his composure.
              - WR corps. B Marsh was himself, Alshon had a decent game, and Marty Bennett chipped in. Anything other than not throwing to Marshall every play is an upgrade.
              - Marc Trestman. Stayed true to his plan, which was keeping Jay upright, and made some quality adjustments for the second half.
              - Defenses ability to force turnovers is still there.

They played as a team today, and got a very important win against what I think is a quality team in Cincy.

              Cons

              - Defense gave up scoring drives of 93, 91, and 80. Ouch.
              - Matt Forte running just annoyed me today. Chose the wrong hole a couple times. Seems a bit soft at times.
              - Offense was a bit off in the 1st. Coming back isnt something they should try to get used to.
              - Julius Peppers.
Missed the game because I had to work.

Better or worse than u thought coming into the year?

                • Harrison Smith played well besides that almost C. Johnson TD. He was hitting guys hard and making plays.
                • Jerome Simpson was actually relevent. Had half his total receiving yards Sunday than he did last year. That diving catch was nice.
                • Rookie Corner Xavier Rhodes did a good job when matched up against the best WR in the game.

                Cons
                • We got Bush-whacked. Couldn't catch this guy and he was making the middle of our Defense look stupid.
                • Ponder pondered too much in the pocket. Still looks completely scared when the pocket colapses. Its fustrating watching this guy play.

                  Pro's

-Brad Ford might have played his best game. Poised in the pocket, made all the right decisions.

-This Cook is some TE and is exactly what the offense needed.

-Rams have the best DL in football. Deep & talented.

                  Con's

-This team desperately needs a short yardage back. It's a huge detriment, particularly on the goal line.

-Tavon Austin ran nothing but drags & crosses. I want this guy touching the ball 20 times total on catches, runs, & returns. Get him the ball in space on screens & pitch outs, let him see the field in front of him.

-The safeties are an issue. They cut veterans and went young. TJ McDonald can't cover me, and has no instincts. He's just a hitter, which would be ok if the other safety men could play. They can't.

Being a Jet fan and knowing Brian's offense, he RARELY runs WR screens or many screens at that. It's a waste of Tavon's talent if you dont do this. You have to get TA the ball in space and let him operate and let these defenders chase his ass around the field. BS really fails to get the best out of the guys on the roster.

                          - What a difference a coaching change makes. Granted, Jerry Gray wasn't fired, but the addition of Gregg Williams paid huge dividends yesterday. Despite having one of the worst defenses in NFL history last season, there was a lot of talent throughout the unit, but Gray's conservative style wouldn't allow that talent to make a difference. Gregg dialed up numerous blitzes, disguised coverages, and never allowed Big Ben to feel comfortable.
                          - Jurrell Casey, Zach Brown, and Jason McCourty all would get game balls from me. Casey destroyed the Steelers interior line and might be the most dominant DT we've had since a 2008 Albert Haynesworth. Brown was in on almost every tackle and has picked up from where he left off on his strong rookie year (fuck your "allergic to contact" comment Mike Mayock). I'm not sure McCourty gave up a catch all day. When they did throw in his direction, he blanketed Antonio Brown and Emmanuel Sanders, and wouldn't give the WRs a chance to catch anything.
                          - Michael Griffin. I didn't hear his name, so that's a good thing.
                          - Running game. The numbers weren't pretty, but they set the tone for the game. Numerous 3rd and 1s and 4th and 1s were converted that weren't last year because of the upgrade of power backs (Javon Ringer/Jamie Harper to Shonn Greene/Jackie Battle). 's stats were unimpressive, but he didn't try to go for the homerun every time last the last few seasons. Besides the Jarvis Jones big hit, I can't remember if he lost yards on a carry.

                          Neither Pros nor Cons:
                          - Jake Locker. Again, the numbers suggest that he didn't play well, but box score analysts are horrible people. He did miss some passes and was hurt from some drops, but no turnovers in his first start against a Dick LeBeau defense? Try finding a quarterback who has done that before. His mobility in the pocket extended some plays, and he completed four first down passes - two of which were from 10 yards out or longer.

                          Cons:
                          - Darius Reynaud. No words needed.
                          - Momentum-killing penalties. There were a few drives that could have ended in points, but something stupid such as a chop block or a personal foul halted everything. This has always been a problem it seems.
                          - Drops. Damian Williams had a big drop on a 3rd and 15 conversion.

Good win, especially considering the Titans never start off the season on a good note and it was against Pittsburgh. I don't think the defense is the top five unit it showed it was yesterday, but they're certainly a lot better than last season's group. On the flip side, the offense isn't as bland as they suggested yesterday either. Next week at Houston will provide a nice test.

What are ur thoughts on britt?

                            * D. Hall (was worried about arguing instead of covering Celek on TD pass)
                            Adding to positives:

Jordan Reed may take over as the starting tight end before the season is over. Reed made some important catches and seemed to have a rapport with RGIII. Same goes for Hankerson as a WR

Defense made some solid stands during the game. They were gassed in the second and half of the third, which is where the bulk of the points were given up. The pass-rush made some adjustments and Orakpo and Kerrigan are once again going to wreck havok on quarterbacks.

                            Cons:

It can not be said more that DeAngelo Hall is a giant turd. He hasn't been the turnover machine he used to be, provides little leadership to speak of and can be goaded into penalties.

We were again largely undisciplined, with 10 penalties for 75 yards. We did a better job last season, but I hope we don't fall into old habits.

The Redskins should have gone to the short passing game early. It would have protected RGIII a lot more, and we saw late in the game that we could sustain drives with shorter passes. I am not sure why we didn't do that earlier when the Eagles continued to drive.

And we have to limit turnovers. Our success last season was based off an ability to control the clock, limit penalties, and create turnovers. We can't do the first unless we are doing the second.

                                Pros:
                                - Russell Wilson is a flat stud.
                                - Percy Harvin wasn't missed in the passing game (yet). Doug Baldwin tore it up. Jermaine Kearse had a big time catch. Golden Tate had a couple big grabs late. Sidney Rice did most of his damage when Russ was running for his life, but you can tell the chemistry between Wilson and the Seahawk WR's is there. If Harvin can come back in Week 8/9 like he's saying he will.. good lord.
                                - Secondary played great. Earl Thomas and Richard Sherman came up with the play of the game when they stripped DeAngelo Williams inside the 10. Thurmond played very well in place of Browner.

                                Cons
                                - Offensive Line looked... absolutely terrible. Wilson was running for his life all game. Definitely need that shored up
                                - Marshawn Lynch looks old. Not sure if this is a result of the aforementioned OL, but he just looked like he was 2 steps slower than he was last season. Though he didn't play much at all in the preseason so maybe he's shaking some rust off still. Not sure. Hopefully if this continues though we see more Christine Michael, who didn't see a snap on offense Sunday. And more Robert Turbin - who had a huge run to seal the game.
                                - Pass rush looked terrible. Hard to harp too much on this though as we were without Avril, Clemons and Irvin. Avril is supposedly coming back Sunday Night .. but Clemons and Irvin are both still a couple weeks away from returning (injury and suspension).

It's very apparent this team is talented though. If they can block more consistently and get some heat on the passer, this is a very very good team.
