Fantasy wise - I think Richardson will do better over the course of the year in Indy than in Cleveland. Better QB, more goalline opps, bigger holes, etc.

But, how long until Richardson can be the full time starter? He's got to learn the offense. There's no way they can plug him in this weak on anything other than goalline.

Insane. They just drafted the guy last season top 4 and they let him go for a pick in the early to mid 20's more than likely? I hope this doesnt fuck me in fantasy , then again he cant be any worse than he was the 1st 2 weeks.

I saw this in the new posts section and assumed it was just one of those online Madden league things. Wow.

Richardson has hardly lit the league on fire and the ways that RBs are used in today's NFL there are very few I wouldn't take a #1 pick for.

I would never trade a #1 for a RB, and I'd wouldn't take one in the first round either...that's just personal preference though. If Lombardi and the Browns are going with that line of thinking...RBs being interchangeable in a league full of passing offenses...then I don't have a problem with Cleveland making the move. They have been throwing all over the place this season...Richardson is getting like 15 touches a game and when you're a sub-4ypc guy, you won't be helping anyone with that number of carries.

I mean, to be fair, I saw this guy get no yards on rushes where he had the Red Sea parted for him in the Dolphin game...hence, why maybe Cleveland thinks the guy is a JAG. To be fair...I like Vick Ballard a little more than Richardson at this point, especially considering the price point...unfortunately, he's done for the year.

What a waste... People still run the ball in this bootleg arena league?

Intrigued to see how Richardson does in Indy...he's got talent.
And now he's going to be running behind a worse O-Line.

They now have 2 first round picks, 2 third round picks and 2 fourth round picks in the 2014 draft. They are in a good spot to stockpile some talent.

Right, with the old front office. Makes sense, forgot they were bringing them back for next years draft.

clearly nobody on VSN watches the Browns....understandable....but Trent Richardson sucks.

he dances around in the backfield looking for the hole and then gets swarmed. Luckily he has the power to get swarmed and still gain a few yards. He can run very well when there is a hole. But 9 our of 10 times he doesnt see the hole and jukes east and west. this isnt NCAA where you can expect 3 yard holes everytime. Or run E/W and think you will out run the defense for yards.

Holmgren was a cunt for drafting this guy in the first place. moving up to #3 to take a RB in todays NFL? talk about a moronic move. How he ever had a front office job is baffling. This current group is trying to salvage what they can for him.

Sure getting a 1st rounder before week 3 is going to hurt the team bigtime. But i think these guys are smart enough to know the browns are at best a 7-9 team. Why take the chance on another sub par season or worse, an injury and get no value for him. The days of building a team around the RB are dead. This is a passing league and i think the Browns did a great job getting great return on a bust of a pick.

sucks that the season is over already though...wtf though, its the norm around here

If Vick Ballard doesn't get hurt, do the Colts make this trade? No. Which is why it's stupid. They had an average running back go down and then they felt like they needed to trade their 1st round draft pick to get someone else to fill his spot.

Not to mention the Colts need a lot of help elsewhere, especially on the DL and at LB.

There are a few running backs I'd make this trade for, but Richardson is not one of them, IMO.

I hope he proves me wrong, though, as I've been a huge Luck fan since his freshman year at Stanford.
This was 100% the same take I had. Even down to being a Luck fan.
