I don't think his career is over, but if he is actually gay, it would be better for his career and real life just to say so and get it over with. He will get a second chance regardless.

All that said, I put this current situation on Schiano, not Freeman. When hired Schiano had a top 15-20 QB who he played a big role in turning into today's Freeman.
It's pretty clear Schiano was never a Freeman guy. He should have traded Freeman the second he knew that and gotten some value. Same way Cleveland did with Trent Richardson.
Instead, Schiano dragged Freeman's name through the mud, got nothing in return and is handing his pro career to a QB who may or may not be Dan McGwire 2.0.

I think Schiano is a terrible coach but come on dave.. Freeman is shit. And arguing he's a Top 20 QB .. which is a more optimistic way of saying he's in the bottom 12.. is hilarious.

And I'm not necessarily saying it is. But Freeman was a 4,000 yard passer with mobility when Schiano was hired. He wasn't a stiff. Suddenly, Schiano gets hired and Freeman is suddenly unemployable. Really?
I agree, he wasn't elite when Schiano was hired, but QB wasn't Tampa's biggest problem when he was.

Freeman has been absolute shit three of his five years in the league. He was pretty much average last season. You aren't even wrong when you say Schiano inherited a "Top 20 QB", the point is that isn't a bragging point. Schiano inherited a pretty shitty QB. It's not his fault Freeman isn't very good.

IMO, I agree with a lot of what you say. I was never a huge Freeman fan ... but Schiano had no better alternative (and Glennon clearly isn't that guy). At the very least Schiano should have done everything in his power to support Freeman and do his best to make that situation work. Now he has an unathletic 3rd round Dan McGwire 2.0 and no value to speak of after releasing a 1st round pick.
