Steve Smith isn't a fan of Janoris Jenkins

No one bothered to tell St. Louis Rams cornerback Janoris Jenkins about the rules and regulations of the game, which have been established by Carolina Panthers wide receiver Steve Smith as "89, bottom line."

Smith put the exclamation point on a testy, fracas-marred game by breaking out the "You're no Primetime" touchdown dance directed at a trash-talking Jenkins.

Smith explained his actions in an epic post-game interview. Below is a transcript, via the Charlotte Observer's Jonathan Jones.

Take us through the touchdown, looks like you made some guys miss.
"I'll let Janoris Jenkins go over it on film on Monday."

    Did you point to him?
"Yes, I directly pointed to him."

Did you think you'd get a taunting penalty?
    "Don't give a damn."

What was the dance you did?
"Well he thinks he's Deion (Sanders). He's not."

To get your 800th catch against him?
"He's just another notch on the bedpost. That's 800. He ain't no different."

For your 800th to be a touchdown, what's that mean to you?
    "Just another dude."

Did you have any run-ins with him before?
"No. What I don't like is a young guy, comes in, obviously his first time ever using the Internet and Google, and he Googles information about me, talks about my wife and stuff like that. That's kind of some of the bullshit I just don't play with."

    What specifically was he saying?
"That's all I'm going to say. I don't play them games. When you try to take it personal like that, I don't have any great humbling things to say. So he can take his ass back to St. Louis and watch the fucking film because I don't play them games. And if I see him in the streets I'm going to bust him in his fucking mouth."

On your touchdown celebration, was that a little bit extra?
"When you embarrass people, you rub it in their face. When your dog pisses on the carpet, you rub it in his face."

Smith is a mental case and a classless piece of trash. He has no credibility because he's found himself in these situations since the day he entered the league.

I wasn't surprised he didn't get a taunting flag, because the refs had no control of that game from the start (there was a fight on the opening kickoff, and it never stopped), and Smith was in the middle of starting fights all game long. Not a single flag tossed on Smith all day, when he probably did enough to be ejected.

It's like I said in the other thread, it's hard to blame the players when the refs have no control and let guys get away with shit all game long. That was a terrible game yesterday, very hard to watch, no flow, just fight after fight and macho bullshit.

              Butt Hurt rams fans...

Kind of interesting to see this since you'd think they'd be used to losing in embarrassing fashion by now.

Coming from the team throwing punches and having some 2nd year bum start talking about a man's family in a derogatory way? Smitty has been in fights, he stands up for his team and family. He is legit pissed off, seems like you are implying he could be making this up.

People must talk about Smith's family all of the time, considering he's constantly been in fights since the day he stepped into the league. Including attacking two teammates. The guy is unstable and has zero credibility.

Also, I said what I had to say about the game in the Weekly Thoughts thread. The behavior of both sides was terrible, the game was embarrassing, and the officiating was beyond poor which allowed things to get out of control. The discrepancy of penalties became comical, as the Panthers (usually Smith or Tolbert) would start another fight, and the Rams would get penalized for retaliating.

Anyway, i'm not going to repeat myself from the other thread. The point here is Smith is mental case, has been for years. He's just not a good person. He's essentially a walking stereotype of an asshole athlete.

Love me some Steve Smith. Having met Steve Smith in Spring of 2012 at the Grand Villas at Kidani Village, by the pool, I'd disagree he's an asshole athlete. Saw his son and daughter, and his white wife who was good looking and classy. No one knew who he was, I was the only one. A couple minutes after he sat down on the lounges, a guy next to him asked him some questions about the Vita he was playing and he cordially spoke with the guy and laughed for about 5 minutes. I caught up with him near the free drink refill stand when no one was around and said hello, made sure he was who I thought, said I admired his play and that I'm a Miami fan who's been stuck in many years of pain. He was nice, laughed, said they are going to turn it around soon, then we just talked a bit about the resort and then we split. Treated his kids great and his wife. There aren't many "classless", "dumb" people in the Disney Vacation Club specific Villas. Those people can't afford it, and shits not tolerated. On field Steve Smith is much different than real Steve Smith. London Fletcher was there too that week, ya know, Mr. Golden Boy, hard worker. Never went near the pool and had a posse around him and the fam whenever he was in the lobby.

BTW, got home from the trip, and a couple days later it's announced he resigned/restructured. MFer was chillin with the fam knowing his agent was securing him another $18 million guaranteed. Fuck me.
