90 catch TE when that number was eye popping and 50 grabs was still a good year. Probably the best TE of the 80's, even though he spent the first few years of his career miscast as a FB and bouncing around the league, and then retired early.
Called NFL games on NBC with Charlie Jones, and was one of the better color guys of his era. Not sure why his NFL broadcasting career fell apart or why he wasn't picked up by CBS or FOX when NBC was squeezed out.
Horrible way to die. Surgery is always a dice roll, no matter how innocuous it may seem.Comment
