ESPN is reporting that Seahawks cornerback Brandon Browner is in violation of the league's substance abuse policy and is facing a one-year suspension, having already had his appeal on this matter. He missed the final four games of last season because of a PEDs violation.
Browner denied a report that his current issue is over PEDs, and sources backed up Browner's story to CBS Sports NFL Insider Jason La Canfora.
La Canfora reports that Browner's issue is substance abuse related, but not PED-related. The Seattle Times reported that the substance is "believed to be marijuana."
Either way, Browner is gone for a year, and when he returns to the league, the upcoming free agent won't be back in Seattle.
On Sunday, it was revealed that Seahawks cornerback Walter Thurmond would be suspended four games for violating the league's substance abuse policy, and he later apologized for his mistake on Twitter.
With Browner's second punishment, this is the sixth Seahawks player to be suspended for a drug violation since 2011.
