Lol the worst kept secret in CFB.. Mack has been on the way out for months. There was a slight reprieve after beating Oklahoma, but the fact that he continually misses on QBs in the most QB rich state in the country is fireable IMO.

Nick Saban will do a better job. Mack has just had too many misses at the QB position the past few years. He's still a great coach in the grand scheme of things at UT.

CBS bringing the lulz, saying Tomlin and Jim Harbaugh are reportedly candidates for Texas, though most certainly on the Texas end for now. While I have to imagine this job is certainly better than a few NFL jobs, Tomlin and Harbaugh are in great spots. And, there are only 32 NFL head coaching jobs, period.

UT could practically be the 33rd NFL team with their athletic budget and funds available through the alumni association. There is no reason why UT can't field a top 10 team each year with the amount of resources at their disposal.

...unless they actually don't pull any hanky panky behind the scenes like everyone else...which would be hard to believe

I always thought he was a great recruiter but not a great head coach.

1 national championship in 16 years is not good enough for a program like Texas that plays in that conference. Not to mention Vince Young deserves more credit for that NC than Mack Brown since he basically just ran wild on every team and won games single handedly.
