Multiple people stabbed outside Sports Authority Field at Mile High following Broncos-Chargers game
By Doug Farrar
According to the Denver Police Department, it’s been confirmed that four people were stabbed outside Sports Authority Field at Mike High, the site of Thursday night’s game between the Denver Broncos and San Diego Chargers. One of the victims is in critical condition, and the police have multiple suspects in custody. The incidents reportedly occurred at around 9:30 p.m. local time, as the game was letting out.
“It was obviously a very chaotic scene and investigators have their work cut out for them,” Denver Police spokesperson Steve Warneke told the Denver Post.
Several eyewitnesses also reported seeing fights after the game, reportedly in a parking lot on the West side of the stadium.
“Stadium Management Company is aware of an incident that occurred in a parking lot adjacent to Sports Authority Field at Mile High,” the stadium’s management said in a statement late Thursday night. “We are currently working with authorities to gather more information.”
This is the second violent incident in which a Broncos game was the background. On Dec. 1, a man died and three people were taken into custody in the parking lot outside Arrowhead Stadium following a game between the Broncos and the Kansas City Chiefs.
