Expectation is Dallas firing Garrett if no playoffs

The Cowboys closed out Week 15 is hilariously bad fashion, coughing up a 23-6 halftime lead they held on Matt Flynn and the Packers. It's causing the drama to heat up in Big D and it's putting a significant strain on Tony Romo and Jason Garrett.

According to Ed Werder of ESPN, there's tension between Garrett and Romo and the quarterback and the coach aren't on the same page at the moment. It's not unreasonable to think that such tension stems from Garrett's decision to point out a missed playcall by Romo from last week.

It's also not unreasonable to assume that if the Cowboys spiral continues, Garrett's job could be in trouble. Werder reports as much Sunday morning, noting that the "current expectation" is Garrett will be fired unless the Cowboys can manage to "win the NFC East [and] make the playoffs."

This shouldn't come as a surprise.

Jerry Jones can dish out votes of confidence for Garrett this season and in the future all he likes. The Cowboys control their own destiny with two weeks remaining in the season and "just" need to beat the Redskins and the Eagles in the next two weeks to win the division and make the playoffs.

That's not necessarily an easy task, especially with how terrible the Dallas defense has been in recent weeks. But it's certainly a doable task.

And if Garrett can't pull it off it won't be in the least bit surprising to see him lose his job.

Hoping Jerrah doesnt give him one more chance because Romo wasnt/wont be out there to win the division... but poor Romo, his back finally gave up from carrying this team all the time.

The Cowboys fired the wrong coach after last season.

As I said before in another thread, Romo's injury and surgery saves Jason's job for 2014, IMO. Not that Garrett deserves it.

I see it the same way. Jerruh hates to look like an idiot (the irony, I know) and will rationalize the injury to Romo as the reason for the Cowboys issues this season.

Rob Ryan takes the Saints from 32nd defense to 4th per Marshal Faulk.
Wade Philips got shafted by Garretts play calling.
Now we're gonna blame it all on Kiffin.
That botched playclock incident wasn't poor officiating...that was divine intervention and God letting Jerry know even he wants Garrett gone. But Garrett operates outside of the time continuum and has infinity lives.

does it really matter who coaches this team? with Jerry calling the shots, they wont be any better than medicore. Its sad too, because they have the talent and Romo has the ability.

Probably not but i get imaginary hope. With Garrett there is none.
Ware and Witten are past there prime. Lots of wasted years being best at there position between those two.
