The most refreshing thing about the last 3 weeks with Pruitt on the staff is that he seems to be changing the way Richt used to always close in January/February. Usually when UGA has 2-3 spots left they would only really go after 2-3 players, and then when Richt gets left empty handed on NSD the numbers are short. So then you get last year where you have to take 33 recruits just to catch up in the numbers game.

This year though with 2-3 spots left, Pruitt seems to be targeting at least 5-6 players. A much needed change to the recruiting philosophy in Athens.

Unless something crazy happens, history will be made on Signing Day. For the first time in Rivals.com history, more than half of the top 10 prospects in the state of Texas are heading outside the borders of the Lone Star State to play their college football.

It sounds crazy, but as for back in the database as you can go back, which is 2002, you will not find another class where six of the top 10 went out of state to play their college careers.
More proof, and what should be the final nail in the coffin since it's happening in Texas. Gone are the days of "locking down the borders" and they aren't coming back.

Can't find it but there's a perfect graph that illustrates the recruiting of Texas and A&M since the SEC move. Aggies are dominating the state. LSU is getting the rest.

Yep, LSU and UGA are having to be two of the more resourceful teams since their states are heavily raided. LSU targets Texas and UGA cleans up in Florida and the strong North Carolina pipeline these days.

UF has 0 commits from the top 20 in Florida as well, but they still have a top class. Talent is talent, no matter where it comes from.

Just tired of all the UGA blowhards every year: "WE MUST LOCK DOWN THE BORDERS! RICHT CANT LET THEM GET AWAY." This isn't 1995 anymore.

Alabama has 4 in-state commits. Auburn has 10. Bama has a higher rated class, of course. ZOMG THE FENCE IS DOWN NICKY

Dad went to Auburn too, doesn't look too thrilled. A big Bama/AUB/UGA battle early on, never thought that Auburn would let him get away from their own backyard. Very surprising.
