    Manziel to enter NFL draft

No huge surprise here, but both Johnny Manziel and Mike Evans -- the talented quarterback and wideout for the Texas A&M Aggies -- are set to leave college football for the NFL following the Chick-Fil-A Bowl on New Year's Eve.

Gil Brandt of NFL.com (aka the "godfather of the combine") reported on Twitter on Monday morning that the players are leaving A&M for the NFL.

The Aggies finished 8-4 in the 2013 regular season and 4-4 in the SEC, a somewhat disappointing season given their success in 2012.

But Manziel shook off a whole bag of offseason concerns to reboost his draft stock.

Both Rob Rang and Dane Brugler of NFLDraftScout.com have Manziel going in the top 10 of the 2014 NFL Draft. Rang sends Manziel to the Jaguars with the No. 3 overall pick and Brugler sends John F. Football to the Vikings at No. 8.

Both guys send Evans, a beastly 6-foot-5 target, to the Ravens at No. 18 in their latest mock drafts.

A big performance against Duke in what is likely the final game of the pair's college career could certainly vault them both even higher.

No surprise here. Lets see if he can keep that draft stock high and stay out of trouble this off-season.

Fran Tarkenton v2.0...if this were the 70's. I'm intrigued to see how Football does in the pros in 2014...interesting test case.

Will be interesting to see which team drafts him too. You could make a case for any team in the top three this year- Texans, Rams and Jags- to draft a quarterback.

Yet I just saw you in another thread calling NFL fans clueless.

How long have the Rams had Bradford? He got injured yet again this season. I'm not saying I would pick Manziel with the second overall pick (probably go with a QB in the second or third.) All I said was you could make a case for it.

He got hurt on a dirty freak play. Nobody worth a damn would draft a QB and give up on Bradford for any of these QB's in this draft. You want to take a guy in the 3rd round? Fine.

There are just too many teams in the top 5 picks of the draft that are desperate for a starting QB for him to stay at A&M for another season. It's time to cash in for Johnny Football.

And I never said I would personally. People would make a case for it is all I said.

I think what will hurt him, if he doesn't adapt, is taking hits head on. He needs to learn to make sliding his new best friend. I would assume the team that drafts him will have/get a quality QB coach.

After RGIII, I'm pretty sure that's high on the list for any team drafting a young, mobile QB to hit home early.

He's a circus act. I think he flames out miserably if his career doesn't end on a cart.

Much like Russell Wilson, Johnny Manziel has huge hands, despite being 6'0" on a good day. It will make his skill set (being able to run around and make throws on the run) much more intriguing to NFL teams.

He has Jet written all over him. I'm hoping we stick with Geno however and focus on adding skill positions.
