Three players from the Seattle Seahwks were on the NFL ATL podcast yesterday defending the mentality of joking around in the locker room and the territory it sometimes can creep into.

They were so dysfunctional they won the Super Bowl.

The players were Michael Robinson, Red Bryant and Brandon Mebane who are all well respected veterans.

Not a football-exclusive problem it would appear.

I wonder if anyone joked about raping their mom/sister? Doubtful.

There is joking around and there is harassment. When asking these players about joking around the context should be made clear about what was actually happening in Miami. I bet there would be a different response.

I do not believe Martin is an innocent saint in all of this; but I do believe that Incognito took this too far and somewhere where Martin and most decent people aren't willing to go.

Yeah I'm sure they were speaking more to the nature of it, I doubt anyone knew the scope of what went on in Miami before today outside of the Wells Group.

A big problem I have here is that I don't see what we've solved.

We see the Dolphins had a fine book similar to the one the Saints were taken to task for during Bountygate. Remember when the league told us that they had done a FULL investigation and solved the issue?

Now a couple years later, the coach at the center of it is a DC again and we see a similar situation with the Dolphins.

All this really taught us is that Richie Incognito and some other Dolphins players are assholes. Like NASHTE said, not really news to anyone.

I don't see what this does to curb this or other types of behavior the league is so "determined" to root out. More than likely the Phins lose some picks here and maybe some people get fired, but I don't see anything more than that happening.

Just another half measure by the league that will lead to zero changes in the future.. but at least the media gets to wring their hands for a few days during a slow news cycle I guess.

I don't see anything wrong with telling another man "I'll shit in your mouth. I'll slap you across the face. I'll slap your real mother across the face." Seems like typical workplace banter.

                Is anyone making that argument?

A lot of this story's appeal also has to do with the "bullying" narrative that the media has been pushing for a few years now. I agree, in the end the league will make an example of some, Goodell will do what he does and everyone will move on. I am not sure what will happen with Incognito, but if he is good enough he'll find work again.

Per the Wells Report, Dolphins OL coach Jim Turner gave ex-Fins and current Panthers OT Andrew McDonald a male blowup doll as an insinuation that McDonald was homosexual.

Referred to as "Player A" in the report, McDonald was "frequently taunted ... with homophobic insults. He often was called a "fag" or a "faggot" in a demeaning tone." Richie Incognito went so far as to accuse McDonald of "sucking d---", "pissing while sitting down," and asked him "where’s your boyfriend?" None of the Dolphins' players actually believed McDonald was gay, but Turner took the harassment to another level. Around Christmas time in 2012, Turner gave his linemen gift bags and stocking stuffers. All of the linemen received inflatable female dolls. McDonald's contained a male blowup doll. Turner remains employed by the Dolphins.

Maybe I should read the entire report... wow

Mike Priefer still has a job too. I hope Michael Sam is reading this stuff.
