Kaepernick seeking $18 million per year, $38 million guaranteed

Updating a previous item, CBS' Jason La Canfora says Colin Kaepernick won't settle for anything less than $20M per season annually in a new contract.

Earlier reports had Kaepernick seeking anywhere from $17-$19M in average annual salary. La Canfora says Kaep "believes he is a top-five quarterback" and will be perfectly happy to "bet on himself" by playing out the final year of his rookie deal for $973,766. It's the right move. Kaepernick is just 26 years old, is 21-9 as a starter (including playoffs) and franchise quarterbacks get what they want these days. The Niners will pony up.

Bringing up Rahim Moore to Ravens fans always results in lulz. More than 3/4's have no idea who he is, and the ones that do (and actually know a bit about football) have no response to it.

No one in the media really brings it up either.. I mean yeah Flacco played out of his mind in the post-season.. but if Moore doesn't F that up completely.. the Broncos likely win and who knows what Flacco's salary is.

And I actually like Joe Flacco, but that contract is as ridiculous as paying Colin Kaepernick 18-20M would be.

Also.. LOL at Kaep thinking he's a Top 5 QB. He's not even the best QB in the NFC West. Could even argue he's not in the Top 10 right now.

I would love to see Kaep's performance on a team without all of the talent surrounding him on the 49ers roster and coaching staff. He certainly deserves a huge increase in salary based on the results he has delivered to date but he might need to tested for drugs if he truly believes he is a top 5 QB in the league.
