Lions sign Golden Tate to five year deal

The Detriot Lions have officially locked up a No. 2 wide receiver for the next half decade. Former Seahawks wide receiver Golden Tate has agreed to terms on a five-year deal with Detriot, the team announced on Wednesday.

Tate caught 64 passes for 898 yards and five touchdowns in 2013, leading the Seahawks in both receptions and receiving yards. The five touchdown catches were tied Doug Baldwin and Zach Miller for the most on the team.

Finally the Lions get someone half decent to start opposite Calvin Johnson to take advantage of the double-teams he gets

Hopefully the Lions fix up that offensive line in the draft.

I signed him in 220 like 3 seasons ago. Also signed Phil Costa (center) who's visiting with the Lions as well. Might as well name me the new Lions GM.

Somehow I feel VSN guy would be a step up.

They were never giving Golden Tate $31 mil.. especially with the extensions coming down the pipeline.

I don't understand the uproar from Hawks fans for him leaving us. I was hoping we would look elsewhere at WR, Tate struggles getting open a lot was never anything special. Still a cool guy tho.

Kearse, Rice, Tate, Baldwin.....AVERAGE. Excited to see what the WR situation looks like for next year alongside Harvin.

Based on track record, he wont be there next year either.

Shayn would've signed Darrelle Revis to a 1 year contract for 50 million in this alternate reality.

I would've rather they signed Jarius Byrd. I fucking hate Golden Tate.

The line did pretty well this year. I think well go CB first round unless Watkins somehow falls.

Feels good not having to yell at Jeff Backus for jumping offside or acting like a faggot.
