That stadium is going to be empty for both soccer and football if they make the capacity anywhere above 50,000.

Becks pushin hard for his MLS stadium. Last I heard he wanted it to be European style in size. Meaning 25 to 30 would be his ideal size. Makes sense for soccer.

Don't know what Miami would do with that though.

30k is far too large for Miami football.

30k would be pushing it for soccer. Best case is that they make it for 20k with room to expand out (and plans to, if attendance is high enough immediately).

Miami does pop ticket sales for big home games like Florida State, they did for Florida (not an issue going forward), VaTech if it means something has got butt in seats.

I'd say 50K is a good number to shoot for.

If this truly is a joint venture to have the soccer stadium doubling as a collegiate football field...its a good move. Sun Life is a dead zone. No life at all. That isn't to say this new spot will be full of it...but perhaps with some state of the art architecture, it can look and sound like its got some umph to it, even if you max out at 50K. The Orange Bowl would sound like there was 80K there when in reality, there were maybe 40K. The old construction, the air pocket that sat in the upper bowl made it happen.

Kind of like how the Wizards and Hawks do big numbers when the Heat or Lakers are in town.

But all trolling aside, I want a dedicated home for the Canes. The situation at Sun Life is just so lifeless and

Last article I saw had some fancy mock up with the location being the port of Miami.

Becks peoples said that's their first choice, but would move if needed. Didn't seem like they were willing to fight too hard for the port of Miami location.
