fuck yes. With an actual DT in the 1st round, our defensive line goes from worst to damn solid

You can get Nick Fairley next off-season.

Very nice signing by Chicago, Allen's had 11 sacks in each of his past seven seasons, and missed just three games in 10 years, so there isn't much not to like.

Allen can still rush the passer, but wasn't the Bears D one of the worst against the run in NFL history or among the worst?

He'll help in passing situations but unless the Bears get some players who can stop the run, that's a lot of money for an older player who isn't going to see a lot of snaps...

He's a model of consistency. I don't know how much he has left in the tank. "Motor" guys tend to hit a wall pretty dramatically and suddenly.
Best reason to have a license.

They do need to draft a DT early to help, as there are no other impact DTs on the free agent market right now. Allen could be in for a tough year if the Bears don't find someone to help alleviate the double teams on him.

He won't be asked to play as many snaps as he was asked in Minnesota. So that's good. Also changed drastically what they can do in the draft. I say HaHa in the first round, then decide between CB and DT in rounds 2 and 3.

If Phil can succeed in the draft, then he would have succeeded in rebuilding the majority of the defense in one off-season.

Probably doesn't need to be said, but awesome job by Emery here.

He's got a couple years of being a 3rd down specialist in him and I think Allen should hit double digit sacks again for the Bears.

However his 11.5 from last year always seemed to really have no impact, they weren't game changing by any means. Almost empty stats from him last year. Not that he had much help from the rest of the piss poor defense.

Wish him the best but would have rather seen him leave the Vikes and go to someone like Sea, Den or another contender. Guess a ring isn't as important as that dollar dollar bill y'all!
