Oh, I know... but I wouldn't call a crap team one that just barely missed the playoffs. Were they good by any means? Absolutely not but your good/bad threshold holds no weight in the NFL because it's a league of average and parity. There's very few "elite" players or teams.
Broncos agree to trade Cutler to Bears

Hey fool...Telling you I was a Bears fan was merely so you knew where my point of view was coming from. People bash things all the time, they bash simply because they dislike the team or whatever the subject is. Sorry that was over your head.
I am a Bears Fan that thought that last years team was anything but good. In my world you are either good or you are crap. There is no degrees. They were not good and for Orton to squeeze out a 7-9 record with a team lacking talent everywhere, I thought showed a lot for him.
As far your response, just because you use a lot of words, doesn't mean anything. Nothing you said proved that they weren't a crap team. As a matter of fact you proved it. You bring up guys that barely classify as good!
You said they were a good team because they had a great RB, good TE's and a very good o-line.
Me pointing out the fictiion of your assessment is idiotic and illogical...You're right.Comment

a. nonsense; drivel.
b. falsehood, exaggeration, propaganda, or the like
They were a falsehood and an exaggeration. All year they lead you to believe something and in the end it was somthing else...crap.Comment

i didn't believe anything. I thought it was a mediocre to slightly above average team with a pretty decent offense thanks to a breakout year by a rookie running back. That's exactly what they were.Comment

They would beat a good team (Indy, Philly, Minn) and then follow it up with losses to barely average teams.
It is so funny about guys getting upset over a word, like I insulted your Mother.
You and your buddy admit they were not good, but they were just not crap. Crap is not good and not good is crap.
Get over it!
They had virtually no talent and Kyle Orton did a remarkable job getting to 9-7 with this team.
This whole thing is about Kyle Orton and some idiot wants to split hairs about the degree in which the Bears were not good.
Cutler is better than Orton.
Orton did a great job while he was in Chicago and never received the credit he deserved.
That is my stance.Comment

Ha! Ok, I'll remember that for the rest of your posts on this message board. You backpedal worse than Lemuel Stinson.
Your grasp of the English language is "crap" then.
I agree. And really the "good or bad" threshold thing doesn't really work in the NFL. In the NBA it does but the NFL, like the MLB has very unpredictable playoffs. Basically, we saw a slightly above average team last year vault their way into the Super Bowl and almost win the damn thing. So you really can't say "they are either good or bad" because I certainly wouldn't consider the Cardinals of last year a really "good" team. They were decent enough to get into the playoffs in a bad division and made the most of their opportunity in the playoffs.
So, no the Bears weren't "good" last year, but they weren't crap. They, as FT said, went into the last game with the chance at the playoffs and in the NFL that's a definite accomplishment.
Whoa whoa whoa......Where did all this "great" stuff come from? I thought there were no degrees..Only "good" or "crap". Nothing else. :eviltongue:Comment

I can go back a dissect everything you wrote too, it doesn't prove anything except you probably don't have a job with all that free time.
I'll just use your words, sorry I misspoke, Kyle Orton did a good job with a team that wasn't very good.
For you to spend all that time trying to prop up a team that you admit is not very good, just not on the crap level, shows who the fool is.Last edited by TDAUG; 10-23-2009, 11:23 AM.Comment

In real jobs you get what is called "vacation time". This year I have 3 weeks to use still. Today I am taking what us in the working world call "a vacation day".
Says the guy who went and looked up the definition of "crap" in an online dictionary.................Comment

I know, they can be a very embarrassing group of people. It's one of the reasons I really don't consider myself a Bears fan.
Too many retarded stereotypes.Comment
