MVP should go to a player form a team that made the playoffs. OPOY is for the player with the best stats. My choices would be either Kurt Warner or Matt Ryan. Without warner the cardinals wouldnt be anywhere. Well actually there division is so bad they could clinch with only 7 wins but thats beside the point. I could of told a lot of peopel that this is what they were getting wiht Matt Ryan. He did this at Boston College with little talent. If he had a good RB and some good recievers at Boston College he would have won a heisman. As for him winning the MVP. Matt Ryan pretty much brought an organization that was falling apart to a playoff contending team. Sure you can say Micheal Turner and Roddy White helped, but I say without Matt Ryan they could be a team trying to stay at 500. Tony Romo could also be a consideration if the Cowboys can make the playoffs.

                Jake Delhomme? come on now..

last time i checked when making an argument to why Cassel should go to the Panthers because of delhomme's shortcomings, he was only +3 TD to INT and having his worst year statistically as a starter. The guy threw like 4 int's against the raiders.

Manning is also having an off season, he shouldn't be up there.

Eli and Favre i can see.

JAKE DELHOMME - I believe he should win. He has come risen from the dead and is carrying the Carolina Panthers in a tough division. He doesn't lead the league in many stats or have the high TD #'s, but that isnt his game. He gets them down the field in position to run the ball in.
Peyton Manning - The Colts wouldn't be where they are without him.

Those are just to name a few...Others like Jay Cutler, Drew Brees among others are up there, but wont win in all likelihood.

You could say the same thing about Kerry Collins too.

Delhomme- 12TD 9INT, 3 fumbles lost, already been sacked 18 times, 57.8 completion percentage. The Panthers are where they are because of an easier schedule, not because of Delhomme.

Manning-His lowest QB rating in a while at 85.3. 63% completion rating, also down. 19TD-12INT is pretty good i'll give him that. But he's not clicking, and the Colts have not looked as powerful as usual.

If he's not a TD Throwing QB..then why do they have him out there? I thought the main purpose of having a quarterback was too try to get the ball into the end zone through the air, thus making the offensive game multi dimensional, not one dimensional if they just pound the rock play after play.

But if they are just barely getting by winning games, why should their QB be awarded for nothing spectacular. I agree with you when you say Manning is the whole reason the Colts are 8-4, not 4-8, but i disagree that because of the point you made, he should now be MVP. He's top 3 QB in the NFL, the Colts should be winning games. I don't think Manning should be awarded the best player in the NFL for doing his job adequately, but not spectacularly.

i'm getting what your saying about Delhomme, i'm just saying that he should not be in the MVP running, for managing an offense. I'm sure plenty of QB's can go in there and throw the ball maybe 20 times a game, hand it off a lot, and not force the ball into any risky throws.

MVP is for the Most Valuable Player. not just the player that puts up the best stats.

Then why did Kobe Bryant win MVP in the NBA last year. Chris Paul obviously deserved it by your standards. It isn't just about most valuable. It's also about the stats.
