and i agree with you on that point. I just don't think he should win MVP since he is most valuable to the Colts. There are plenty of players are most valuable to their teams who are putting up amazing stats. Don't get me wrong, Peytons a great player, just not MVP worthy this season.

and celtspatssox, usually the most valuable player to their team, is putting up the best stats.

You can say all you want that its supposed to be about the most valuable player, but everyone knows that's not actually how it plays out. It obviously originated in that light but now MVP has mostly turned into a phrase for Best Overall Player.

Case in point: The last four year's MVPs have all been players with record breaking seasons. You could obviously argue that made them the most valuable player, but their stats were what was mostly talked about, not their value, and there were probably more "valuable" players for their team than them. That's at least how I see it.

As for this year, I'm not really sure, lol. I'd probably say Warner.

Im a titans fan and Kerry has no shot(as Delhomme likely doesnt either) . Kerry actually could have legitimate case if the Titans threw the ball more.

My choice for MVP is Michael Turner

Michael Turner is a dark horse, i don't think he gets enough recognition for what he does.

Matt Ryan and Michael Turner both deserve to have something said about them in this race.

for anyone saying the panthers have a easy shed....gtfo

plus if you notice the whole nfc south have similar sheds,so is the nfc south a product of easy shed??????

btw, whens the last time a team picked there shed, panthers can't help it if our shed comes off as easy to some.talk to goodell

if anyone (not saying they do) deserves mvp from the panthers it's steve smith, guy has made some single handed plays to win some games.but i see what your sayin about jake also.

i would say brees, but it seems he has lose some games for the saints due to bad decisions.i'd go with farve for now,but if the dolphins make the playoffs, definitely chad penn should get some interest

Past 4 MVP's are Tom Brady, Ladanian Tomlinson, Shaun Alexander, Peyton Manning. There are a couple things these players have in common. One is that they all had record breaking seasons and the other is that they all carried there teams to the playoffs. Now when you have record breaking seasons then there should be no doubt as to who should win. But when you are in a year where there arent many standout stats you have to go wiht the guy who seems most valubale to the team. Theoretically speaking lets say Calvin Johnson of the detroits Lions was leading the league in reception yards, TD's and a lot of the other Wide Reciever Stats. Would you put him into consideration for MVP? Most likely not cause his team doesnt have a win and he hasnt helped his team out.

You can say Favre should be MVP until you are able to spell his name.

Quit throwing names out there for the sake of argument, if you said Peyton Manning, Jake Delhomme, or Kerry Collins you obviously don't know what the hell your talking about. I can make a claim that D'Qwell Jackson deserves DPOTY based on the fact he leads the league in tackles.

Enough of throwing names out there for the sake of throwing names out there. Kerry Collins? Kerry F***ing Collins? Come on, 21st in the league in passing yards, 15th lowest attempts. PLEASE! The running game has got the Titans where they are not Kerry Collins, can that argument now.

Jake Delhomme? Completing just over HALF of his passes. And only attempting 27 passes a game? Are you serious guys come on.

                    MVP

                    MOST VALUABLE PLAYER

                    not MVPT

Most Valuable Player to their Team.

Value is not only self worth but what your doing with your team, while all are considered to be playoff contenders (and no one has an easier last four than Ind) Tennessee is the only sure bet to get a playoff spot. Falcons could catch, or Chicago at 6-6 and get into the playoffs should CAR slip.

Dont really get what your saying. The MVP award is the most valubale player to there team. How else would you describe the award. And your statment about how Tennessee is the only sure team to get a playoff spot. There are a couple teams that can clinch a playoff spot this week. I think its Arizona, Pittsburgh and there might be one more.

I think if Atlantsa gets the playoffs, Matt Ryan or Turner should get consideration, but they both benefit from each other.

The Tennessee comment was mentioning the teams involved in the above post, the Titans, Colts, and Panthers.
