Packers to induct Favre into team HOF and retire jersey in 2015

The Packers are set to announce that the team will induct Brett Favre into the Packers Hall of Fame and retire his number in the 2015 season. Good to see this will be done before Favre goes into Canton

Good stuff. Favre got some terrible advice from his agent at the end of his Packer tenure, and I thought it did irreparable damage to his image. Good to see that common sense is starting to prevail here.

Its about time. The fact that they didn't do it almost immediately was almost unfathomable.

Statement from Favre's website earlier this morning. I would have probably left off the blurb about Wolf being the greatest GM ever since it comes across, at least to me, as being a jab at Ted Thompson.

Ron Wolf should have had a second run with a team.

On the Favre news, he deserves it. I read something where there are some Packers fans already making reservations in Canton for the 2016 HOF induction when Favre is first on the ballot.

Is Favre's website still running on Windows 95? Did he also send out a statement in binary code?

Yeah...because Wolf wasn't a great GM. Good call. It would be like Favre saying that Sterling Sharpe was the best WR ever, and you interpreting that as a jab at Bill Schroeder. Makes sense.

Appreciate the effort but you are trying too hard, let the sarcastic over-exaggeration come to you

Favre and Thompson's hatred for each other is not a secret. It's been the biggest obstacle to this number retirement taking as long as it did. It is interesting though that this was supposed to have taken place last season but was cancelled due to Favre's high school team he was coaching making the playoffs. Last season it was going to be something planned in a matter of weeks but this time it is planned over a year out?

Good point...Favre's hatred of Thompson makes Ron Wolf less of a GM. If Michael Jordan says that Scottie Pippen is the greatest teammate he ever had, do you interpret that as being total BS because Jordan hated Bill Cartwright, and any shout-out of Pippen is really just a slam of Cartwright?

As for the underlined part, I think you truly are brain dead. Yeah, its planned over a year out because if they did it in a few weeks, we'd be in Week 2 of preseason. Sounds like that would be awesome. "The Steelers will be retiring Joe Greene's #75 jersey in the cafeteria during lunch of tomorrow's rookie camp..."
