Need to decide on keepers for a 14 team league, I have to keep at least one player, can keep five. I have 8 players to choose from, as we start a list of 8 at the start of the NFL Draft. I also have the first pick in our rookie draft, who counts as an extra keeper. Along with that, I have the first pick in the 6th round. Here's my starting 8:
QB Colin Kaepernick
RB Alfred Morris
RB Montee Ball
RB Lamar Miller
TE Vernon Davis
WR Torrey Smith
WR Hakeem Nicks
WR Kendall Wright
As for rookies, here are Yahoo's top five:
1.) RB Bishop Sankey, TEN (39 OVR)
2.) RB Terrance West, CLE (85 OVR)
3.) WR Brandin Cooks, NO (89 OVR)
4.) WR Sammy Watkins, BUF (91 OVR)
5.) WR Mike Evans, TB (93 OVR)
The bonus to not keeping many players is that I would bounce ahead in the draft. The chance that other players also do that means I could run the risk of losing out on my players. I'm leaning towards Ball, Morris and Davis and taking the chance on other players left out there. I hate to give up Kaepernick because I traded Andrew Luck for him last season (dumb move) but I feel I could get a similar QB later.
Do I go with Sankey and stack the deck at RB, or go by need and draft a WR? We start two RB, two WR and one FLEX, so if I go with what I posted above, that rounds out RB.
