The NFL is BACK! 2014 NFL Randomness

Figured I would start one of these for the season.

Russ and Percival are smoking so far in the first half!

I hope you didn't bet the trailer on the Packers.

I love the NFL, so don't get this wrong, but am I the only one who thinks the NFL is way over-exposing itself and possibly putting its future in danger?

I despise Thursday night football and, frankly, could do without Sunday night football.

That the NFL wants fantasy football taught in schools as cirriculum is frightening and stupid.

I don't need the NFL 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. I love the game, the league, etc... but it's dangerously close to annoying its fans, IMO.

W2b was saying this years ago and it's been discussed ad nauseum here by the old chat box baseball guys and him.

But yes you're part of the few. That game last night was the best sporting event I've seen on tv in months. Nothing else even comes close. Those two teams were flying around and playing sound football.

NFL ratings are through the roof. Hell, the draft gets higher ratings than the World Series. People can't get enough of it. Unless you're an obsessed baseball nerd or Canadian, football is still number 1 and nothing comes close.

i had more fun watching FIFA or even now with FIBA.........

c"mon - last night's game was good for one half.....it was over after the safety.
3rd & 14, inside your own 15, up 6, 3:20min left to go = call a PA Pass and Cancel. *its Legit, so no needless complaining

I don't disagree football is number one. My point, if you read it, was the NFL is in danger of overexposing itself.

We've discussed this for years now.
I had no interest in last nights game and can't recall any TNF game of interest since the inception. MNF is a forgetful show and no longer a weekly 'event'.

I thought the first half was great but once gb lost baluaga it was over, they're Oline is just too banged up for Seattle.

That game was extremely physical last night. If you didn't think it was a good game in the first half then you are probably just bored of football.

And yeah this has been discussed on here for years but the rest of America doesn't agree with you.

I think it has more to do with age demographic as a lot if older guys just can't get past the new rules and continue to harp on it.

People continue to say the NFL is too easy to pass and tailored to offenses so it's not fun to watch, then Seattle whips the best offenses in the leagues and the games are now boring...don't know what to tell you.

Well you just don't like football. Not wanting to see 2 of the leagues best teams play on opening night just because its TNF is retarded. This wasn't the shit NFL Net offers up.

The only reason to really watch TNF is if your team is involved. Otherwise, it's too much. It's also annoying to have fantasy lineups partially set by then as well.

Some people can not get enough football even now, so no, I don't think the NFL is risking overexposure yet. It's been discussed quite a bit, and it's starting to turn me off a bit, but us on forums are the minority. The mouthbreathers still pack stadiums and bars for 17-plus weeks, and eat the product up no matter how watered down it might be to what we saw even a decade ago.

I would rather watch a pre season game than watch any championship game in any other sport

A pre-season game over the World Cup or baseball playoffs? I disagree big time here.

Agreed! Hell I would rather watch the worst team in football (probably my Browns) play that any other championship (except maybe the UFC. .
