I apply that judgement to liberals too. If you are 100% con or 100% liberal, you are not intelligent. The world is not that black and white. My Twitch video link: http://www.twitch.tv/dave374000

There is no way that Goodell saw the full video. I think you can fault Goodell for not pursuing the matter to its fullest, and I think Goodell was probably proactively ignorant of the entire situation, but I just cannot believe that Goodell saw the full Rice video and then gave a 2 game suspension. That would be a buckeye/The Brain level of misogyny.
My guess is that the full video was sent to the league office, and it either sat on the desk of some intern, or some higher-up person told Goodell either "This is so bad you don't want to see it" or lied to Goodell and said "there isn't anything new in this full video" as a means to protect Goodell from the inevitable fall out.Comment

If that's the case then he still isn't doing his job correctly. He hands out the suspensions, it's his job to gather as much info as he can before ruling. He had to at least know there is an elevator video out there and if he didn't do everything he could to see it before suspending rice then he isn't doing his job.
Your guess sounds silly to me. If I'm the CEO of a company and somebody says either of those things I still want to see the video before suspending an employee of mine because it's the right thing to do and it's my job.
The only reason I may think that he never knew about the video (which is completely asinine because I remember others and myself asking about the elevator cam when this story first surfaced) is that he isn't stupid enough to believe this vid wouldn't leak at some point.Comment

Thanks. I don't remember saying "Goodell has done his job correctly in this situation", but its good to get clarification.
"...we're gonna, we're gonna, we're gonna wrap up this interview...thank you for coming in."

From the "you can't make this up" department. On the day the video of Ray Rice punching his fiance was delivered to the league office, Roger Goodell was in Augusta, GA wearing his green jacket as a member of the country club...
Where was Goodell when the tape arrived? Augusta, of course

The NFL has some problems at the moment.
But up near the top of the pile is the simple symbolism of where Roger Goodell was when he should have been at the office going through the mail.
As noted by Jeff Schultz of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, the day the tape of Ray Rice punching his wife in the face was reportedly delivered to the NFL offices, Goodell was at The Masters, wearing his green jacket that confirms his status as a member at the exclusive Augusta National Golf Club.
Golf is fun. Azaleas are pretty. Pimento cheese sandwiches taste good.
But at the very moment when the organization Goodell runs so powerfully should have been aware of something so horrible, he was surrounded by people just like him.
Rich. Powerful. And insulated from practically anyone who might look or think differently.
Augusta’s track record of exclusion is well-documented and long-standing and only really pertinent as it applies to the bigger picture of the NFL’s blind spot to the reality of domestic violence.Comment

LOL...so Goodell is supposed to hang around the league office all day in case the FedEx guy shows up? I think Goodell's handling of the Ray Rice situation has been all kinds of screwed up, but some of the criticism of Goodell is extremely petty and/or irrelevent.Comment

Wait, so because he's a commissioner of a league and in charge of thousands of players, he cannot do anything other be in the office? He is supposed to know what mail is coming and what day? What a stupid fucking article. So, metaphorically speaking, our physiology basically has the universe mapped out and you're thinking it needs to be taught addition & subtraction.
