(Insert NFL Player) Reportedly Arrested for Domestic Violence
I read this happened in July and she reported it last week? He must have recently pissed her off. Dudes need to be careful with scorned baby mommas, as once they get upset they'll be out to get you.

With what's happened to Ray Rice and Adrian Peterson, people are going to be coming out of the woodwork reporting that this happened to them. Its going to be hard to differentiate between those with a fake story, vs those who have a real one.

I assume they are all real, with about 1000 other real cases going unreported.

I'm not doubting it happened. I just find the timing to report it interesting.

This approach seems to be akin to the PSU defenders that claimed it would be hard to determine those that were really molested by Sandusky and those that are making it up. Why assume that the potential victims are lying?

Because VSN has become a cloak-and-dagger operation.

I don't think it is an assumption of lying. I think it is a realistic possibility that there are going to be a few cases where an player's significant other is going to use an accussation as blackmail and or extortion. The NFL has painted themselves into a corner.
Cops were originally called to the Dwyer home because of a domestic disturbance. They did not make an arrest because the wife told them Dwyer was not present (he was hiding in a bathroom) after he allegedly threatened to commit suicide if she told the police. She took her son and left town after the incidents, returned recently and filed a report with police on 9/11/14 and this is the result of that investigation.
Police say that Dwyer hit his wife (head butted her, breaking her nose on July 21, then punching her on July 22) and threw a shoe at their baby boy.
Dwyer denies ever striking his wife or son, insisting that he just punched the walls of their home, threw a cell phone and that his wife bit his lip. He did acknowledge hiding from police and sending a text with a photo of a knife with suicidal threats.
He was charged with aggravated assault resulting in a fracture, aggravated assault against a minor, assault, criminal damage & preventing someone from dialing 911.

All that's from the ESPN report.
Good , now lets charge her with endangering the welfare of a child for keeping him around a violent psychopath.

Well, he said fake, which leads to a natural assumption that he is referring to a situation where one is lying, no?
Read she kept evidence of the assault. Sure hope the evidence has dates to tie into the original police visit back in July. Hard to blame someone for not coming forward right away (husband and father of child), but sure wish she would have.
