Why didn't the Bucs go with Mike Glennon?

I realize Glennon entered the game after McCown left the game with an injury and after four interceptions, so it was garbage time. However, he was much more efficient than McCown hoped to be and had a solid showing in the 2013 season.

What possessed the Bucs to sign McCown, and start him over Glennon? Even if they didn't think Glennon was the answer, was there anything wrong with punting the first season under Lovie Smith to see what some of the players could provide, Glennon included? The worst that could happen is you draft someone next year to take over for him.

That was a head scratching decision. They drafted Glennon to start, then draft some help in Mike Evans... Give him a shot.

well; Glennon starting now i would think
3rd & 14, inside your own 15, up 6, 3:20min left to go = call a PA Pass and Cancel. *its Legit, so no needless complaining

Lovie Smith is a dunce is why. The hell was McCown gonna show you at 34 that you didn't already know about him? That small stretch during last season was an exception to the rule otherwise he would have been doing it his entire career. Regardless, McCown isn't the only reason we got our asses scraped. Where was our defense? We were missing like 4 or 5 starters but that still isn't an excuse to get embarrassed the way we did.

As always, gonna be a long season.

Lovie has reported that McCown is still the starter.

Jason Licht and Lovie didn't draft him. Glennon was a Schiano pick. Lovie likes Josh and it is a complete mystery as to why. However, the only guy that matters is the guy that makes the decision and that is Lovie right now. Plus, with Tedford taking a Leave of Absence, I don't see a voice in the offensive meeting room that carries enough clout to change Lovie's mind. Short of an injury, Josh is the guy

Even if he's a Schiano guy, he played much better last week and had a good enough body of work in a bad situation last year to merit going with him moving forward. Why they signed McCown to start makes no sense.
