    Second guessing myself this week

    Untitled.png

It's been a weird season for me. I'm in an 8 team league (we're all close friends so it's not the worst, but I also have suggested we add two more....but having only 8 and being ensured I make the playoffs allowed me to stash gordon since week 2....anyway) I finished 11-2 for first place. I've had to stream defenses all year, plus my RB2 after losing AP who was my first pick, how I managed to go 11-2 was thanks to Luck and Forte, and a few good pick ups allowing me to sneak by week to week.

Now I'm just second guessing my line-up. With Johnny Football getting the start I'm scared Gordon could be a boom or bust guy (esp after last week). Allen has been frustrating all season long, but I held on to him and he did pick it up after a slow start, and he seems to tear up the bronco's.

And again like I said, my RB2 has always been a crap shoot....I'm thinking of dropping denard and picking up blount, but all that does is give me 3 flex play caliber RB's that have to be played as a RB2. Mason, Stewart, and Blount all could be boom or bust guys. I'm leaning towards Stewart, what with Newton getting in a car accident. So what do you guys think? What RB would you plug in (include blount in the conversation) and should Allen get a start over Gordon?

I would not start Gordon, I think it is quite risky that Johnny football could go in there and throw 3 picks. I would start Allen...their matchup at Denver could be high scoring and he is sure to get some of that action. He had 9-73-1 against them earlier this year.

I'm somewhat in the same boat at RB since losing Ellington, either Stewart or Isaiah Crowell. If DeAngelo doesn't play I think you have to go with Stewart (because Crowell and West are splitting carries in my case)

With all that being said, I have missed on a lot of decisions this year, whereas last year I could not do wrong.

There is no way I would start Gordon. He helped knock me out of the playoffs last week and I had the most points scored in the league. I'd lean towards Allen right now and keep watching LaFell as Sunday got closer.

yeah i probably wouldn't even be asking this question after gordon's week last week, thankfully i picked up st louis defense last week and their 31.5 points made up for his 3.5 points.

        thanks for the advice guys!

Looks like you don't have to worry about Denard anymore, he's going on IR

I would probably start Allen because he has the better QB but I think johnny football will do just fine. He can't be any worse than Hoyer especially since he is more mobile and teams don't have film on him. I think Gordon and cameron are both good starts this week against a bengals D that just gave up 42 points to Pittsburgh.

I also don't like Allen going up against Talib if that's who he draws but I could run in circles all day.

Half of those points were Le'Veon Bell tearing them apart which opened up the air. I would be surprised if Crowell/West could do the same.

If you watched the game you wouldnt be asking if you should bench Gordon. He was still targeted a team high 8 times. Hoyer overthrew him for a 50 yard TD and another 60 yard throw off his fingertips. He is still getting in game shape but he will break out big before this season is up there is no way im benching him.

i found it funny most experts were like "play allen cause he won't have revis on him all game long against the broncos" to which i'm thinking "yeah but it's not like talib is a huge drop off in talent"

see that's kinda my thinking....he's a wr1 even after his suspension and a down week. and that's why i'm second guessing myself...one minute i talk myself into gordon, next minute i'm on the allen bandwagon, then flippity floppity all day long.

as far as my rb, i'm leaning stewart as i'm hoping they'll pound the ball with cam out. so it might not matter if williams steals carries, as the volume will be there

The Bengals are the 21st ranked pass D. They are last in the league with 15 sacks. They are starting 45 year old Terrence Newman at one corner spot and 35 year old Leon Hall at the other. Those things alone tell you that their pass defense sucks.

Seriously, do you think Hall or Newman can keep up with Gordon?

Their run D is ranked 27th, too. So all in all, their defense sucks. Their offense isn't known for ball control either so it's not like they will control possession of the game, the Browns will get their shots. I don't expect the Browns to run all over them like Bell, either, but Gordon will get his targets and chances to make some plays this week.

Hoyer is probably the worst deep ball QB in the league, too. There's no way anybody can tell me that they can't see Manziel buying time running around behind the LOS a few times and launching some balls downfield to one of the smurfs or Gordon.

Then again....fantasy football is a coin flip. For every argument there is a counter argument.

so i went with allen over gordon, not the worst choice as gordon only got 3 more points. but hindsight is 20/20 and i wish i would have put lafell and blount in as they would have gotten me 12 extra points and i'd only be down by 8 points going into the mnf game tonight. but i'll take the 58-42 fav, it's better than nothing i guess

here's hoping the bears finally figure out how to stop a TE
