2015 NFL Hall of Fame Inductees

Pretty straight forward class this year. I think they all deserve to be enshrined but Jimmy Johnson should be going in ahead of Bill Polian. Marvin Harrison should be going in over Tim Brown and Will Shields.

PHOENIX – Linebacker Junior Seau was the only finalist elected to the Pro Football Hall of Fame in his first year of eligibility on Saturday.

Seau was one of eight new members of the Class of 2015 who will be enshrined in Canton, Ohio in August.

The Class of 2015 was voted on Saturday and announced on the NFL Honors Show on NBC.

Joining Seau among the five modern era finalists were defensive end Charles Haley, receiver Tim Brown, running back Jerome Bettis and guard Will Shields.

Also elected were senior finalist Mick Tingelhoff and general managers Bill Polian and Ron Wolf, both of whom were nominated from the new contributors category.

Seau, who committed suicide in 2012, played 20 years and made 12 Pro Bowls.

Haley won five Super Bowls with San Francisco and Dallas.

Brown, a Dallas native, was one of the greatest players at his position during a distinguished career with the Raiders.

Bettis retired as the fifth-leading rusher in NFL history and won a Super Bowl with Pittsburgh in his last season.

Shields went to 12 Pro Bowls with Kansas City.

Tinglehoff played center for Minnesota for 17 years and appeared in four Super Bowls.

Polian was the only six-time winner of the NFL Executive of the Year Award with Buffalo, Carolina and Indianapolis.

Wolf helped Tampa Bay become a playoff team, worked under Al Davis with the Raiders and became Green Bay’s general manager who hired Mike Holmgren as coach and traded for quarterback Brett Favre.

To be elected, the finalists had to get 80 percent of the vote from the 46-man selection committee.

Finalists who didn’t get elected were offensive tackle Orlando Pace, receiver Marvin Harrison, linebacker Kevin Greene, safety John Lynch, quarterback Kurt Warner, running back Terrell Davis, kicker Morten Andersen and three coaches – Jimmy Johnson, Tony Dungy and Don Coryell.

The selection committee met for 8 hours, 55 minutes. There were 18 candidates – Tingelhoff as the senior nominee, Polian and Wolf as the contributors and the 15 modern era finalists.

Harrison over Brown I can agree with. I would say Harrison and Shields are same level. Shields was one of the greatest of all time...maybe top 3 at his position ever.

Cant disagree with any of them. I dont think Brown or Harrison are HOFers , but both were better than Reed.
Best thing to happen to Bettis was being moved to Fullback then shipped out to Pitt by incompetent Ram staff... $1 if you can name the RB they wanted instead. (no googlin')
Best reason to have a license.
