How so? Besides the argument that we need so many other things. Imagine that LB corps, Ernie Sims, Julian Peterson, and Aaron Curry. I'd be in heaven. If they didn't get Aaron Curry, then I'd hope they pick Jason Smith and then with the 20th pick they'd go with either Ray Maualuga or James Laurinaitis. If that happened, I'd be happy as well. I truly believe the way Culpepper has been working his ass off this off-season, and that he'll actually know the playbook this year, that he can get it done...at least for this year.
Lions 1st pick is.....

Eh, I wouldn't go THAT far. Granted, our D-Line is certainly nothing spectacular, but their average if anything. I have a feeling Cliff Avril is gonna have a breakout year this upcoming season.

IMO the Lions shoul dhave stuck With Culpepper this year and drafted like this
Round 1 (1) - Jason Smith
Round 1 (2) - Rey Maualuga
Round 2 (1) - Vontae Davis
Round 3 (1) - Willie Moore
Round 3 (20) - Chris Baker
Round 4 (1) - Herman Johnson
This drastically improves there team IMO, bad pick with Stafford but it was expected

20 bucks says we go offensive tackle with our number 20 pick completely forgetting about fucking defense. Some things just never change/Comment

And Freeman will not be available past the Jets selection in all likelihood .. meaning the Lions would have to move up to guarantee themselves of getting him. Is he worth giving up more picks? I don't really think so.. especially considering Stafford is a much better prospect than Freeman.
The Lions basically had their hands tied here.. they had to take a potentially franchise-caliber QB.. and they had to get someone they could market the future of their franchise to..Originally posted by ram29jacksonI already said months ago that Seattle wasn't winning any SBComment

While that sounds ideal.. this is the worst year for QB's in the past decade. After Josh Freeman comes off the board there is a huge drop in talent.

I really am not high on Stafford at all. I saw him play two games this year (Alabama and Florida), and both times he was HORRIBLE. Not just bad, HORRIBLE. Yeah, he's got "elite" arm strength, "ideal" size, and he played in a pro system.. I get that. Can the dude play quarterback.
I hope I'm wrong, but Stafford to me is average at best. I think this year's "stud" at QB is Mark Sanchez.Comment
